Metroid: "John Woo has optioned Nintendo's best-selling video game franchise "Metroid" for the big screen. Woo will produce the sci-fi movie and has the option to direct. The plan is to release the first film before 2006. "Everyone involved is looking at this as a big-budget picture. Games coming out as movies is often a worry, many years ago I suffered the trauma of seeing Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat (two of my favourite games at the time) get completely destroyed [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-frown.gif[/img]

Anime normally seems to do it ok though, I loved the Street Fighter 2 animated movie (but not Alpha) and also the fatal fury and tekken movies were tolerable...

What about the Alien vs Predator movie? I'm very worried about this...I heard the basic justification for the story to try and make it plausible, I read that in the story a scientist was trying to genetically clone or create (I can't remember which) a predator, on a planet with alien eggs on it...AvP2 is a good game (not played the first one cos damn XP won't let me [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif[/img] ) but I'm quite worried about this - I've not seen the Predator films but I'm a big fan of the Alien Saga and love all four films that have been released...so I'm worried about what this might do to the series [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-frown.gif[/img]

alright i must say the alien vs predator has nothing to do with what you just said.

the movie is about scientist that accidently uncover and predator hunting ground and there happens to be aliens egg's. the pyrimid located in the artic is a big find and it just so happens that it has been like 100 years since the last battle, at this time it turns out that 3( i think 5) must return to earth and destroy the aliens as there right of passage, also the scientist find out that the predators enslaved the mayan and or aztec't to build the pyrimids and to hunt them down for the past few hundred years.

Resident evil 2:apocoliyps is gonna come out soon. forgot when. THis time it involves 2 main characters. jill and the other girl. those 2 NEVER meet through out the whole movie... from wat i think i think its gonna be about fighting nemsis.

Hmm, I did read about it quite a long time ago...must have been bad information I read...or maybe I just forgot [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/img]

When I read the first line of your post I thought "thank fuck for that!" but then I read further down and it still sounds like its gonna suck, and it still sounds like its gonna fuck up the series...cross overs just shouldn't happen...they're almost always just a naff money spinning novelty (*cough* freddy vs jason *cough*). There are probably exceptions I don't know about....but I guess I'll have to wait for the film to come out to see if it'll do justice to the Alien series...the premise does sound a bit tacky though...

EDIT - I'll have to watch Rush Hour 3 as the first two were cool, and I'll no doubt see Resi 2...I hope its better than the original though I didn't think the original was quite as bad as everyone said it was...any film involving zombies is good for me [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/img]. Dawn of the Dead the remake was quite good and I definitely wanna see shaun of the dead - its meant to be well funny...

Face it... even Woo will have to work damned hard to make a decent movie out of Metroid...

Never saw Super Mario Brothers (thankfully - it looked atrocious) though I thought the premise of the spirits within wasn't a bad idea...the novelisation of that is quite good...though the movie can be a little arduous to sit through...plus I read the novelisation when I worked saving up for Uni typing in postcodes...so reading The Daily Mirror probably would have interested me after 5 hours of typing addresses into a computer [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

alright so i just got back from a screener of the movie chronicles of riddick.
for those of you who don't know this is the sequal to pitch black starring vin diesal.

over all the movie is great. awsome 3d animation great modeling techniques. this is a movie i suggest you see.

it airs june 20th.
