In my opinion nothing here resembles Neon Genesis Evangelion... not their personalities nor the the character designs...
The only thing that might remind me of it is the mecha that was killed in the opening sequence of episode 1... but that's about it

the character names of the heroines came from the book "The Little Women" by Louisa May Alcott. In the book Jo(e) is a tomboy just like in this anime, Meg is the flamboyant girl and Amy was the youngest among them.

And I agree with who ever disagrees with itachi_ the show would have a totally different style to it if they were men. Its like like gundam wing... what if they got guys to pilot the gundams? The show would be totally different.
Hehe..well, as stupid as this may sound but I have to agree to Jakxx, a lil at least. Meg sure reminds me ALOT of suka and she looks alot like Asuka too. ^^; The others somehow not. Jo is way too cool to be just a Rei clone and that guy and Shinji might both be chickens but hey he's only a cook no damn EVA pilot.

for some reason this anime kinda reminds me of Airmaster but with guns and giant mechs.....cuz in airmaster, the main character was a female who enjoyed kicking the crap outta people in street fights. and when she fights, she becomes a psycho b!tch who looks orgasmic as she's beating them up.
and another thing that is similar is that the best buddy of the girl in airmaster is this SOOOPER buxomed chick that seems to want to be more than just friends with the main character in airmaster. i've seen many similarities between Bakuretsu and Airmaster in the two eps that i've seen so far of Baku.
it doesn't mean it's a bad thing though. cuz airmaster was kinda cool and bakuretsu looks just as interesting. throwing that cook guy into the mix makes it interesting and i'd like to see how the anime turns out.

The series seems to definately be pretty wicked, and by the looks of what has happened in episode 2 there is definately a plot-line evolving.

Episode 3 hints at a deeper storyline (finally! a plot!), but the cook all but disappears from the scene.
yeah... a plot will be a nice change, but the story can't just focus on the cook... he's not even in the opening for chrissakes.... (why does that make me think of jesus sake?)

I don't think that the cook is a cool character yet. Maybe he becomes one later on. He's definitely not a wimp.
Meg is only cute. She's become a hostage more times than helping.

Probably the same place she got a glowing arm and a loyal cybot. We're bound to find out sometime in the series.

I think he's a cool character from his ...I guess innocence and pessimistic view on all this. How many guys would love to cook for them? I mean, joe just strips whereever, and he has no limit on what he can buy... and if anyone tries to steal his recipies, they would be totally owned.
Btw, when do you think we'll meet the baron?
