Initial D 4th stage is coming out this month in japan. supposedly on pay per view or something. does anyone know if any fan subs are going to be subbing it?

I just rented on of Tokyopop's DVD's for first stage to find out about the "enhanced video" they were advertising. The CG is a lot crisper, but it seems to stick out more like a sore thumb now then before. The American voice actors are also horrible. They changed the names for most of the characters:

Takumi -- Tak
Itsuki -- Iggy
Iketani -- Cole

Why change it? I liked there names before, I've got no interest in them once they are this bland. The final alteration was the music. I happen to like 90's Japanese techno. Now its some sort of low-grade hip-hop.

Yeh, i saw sum of the American versions playing in one of the gaming stores and thought it was pretty ruined. Pretty sad how they gayd up a good series really

The sad thing is that i dont know why they even do it... no one likes it when they change things.... the persons that come up with those types of ideas should get a shot in the head

Most likely they are trying to modify it to make it more acceptable to the general audience in the US. Unfortunetly, its not the general audience, but those that are already fans of anime that will probably invest the most of the money and time in it. They should be thinking more about what we want and less about the people that have no desire to watch it.

hi i am new here and haha i saw the tokyo pop initial d dvds...it was so bad i mean i havent seen an english dubbed ver of an anime be so bad
it was horrid
haha i think even the ppl who dont know nothing about initial d will be like wut is this crap
and the names are the characters r jacked straight out of the initial d arcade game..english ver

i saw something in a dvd store that said stage 4 i was like wtf so i look in the back of it and it doesn't preview anything so i'm thinking it might be the extra stage or some other thing so if any1 got some info on stage 4 please post becuz the dvd box had the AE86 and some crazy wallpaper and that was it

i saw the anime during last summer
one of my friends said that 4th stage is coming around april 20th or something
sometime between that time
i cant wait, this anime is one of my favorites

ok i jus did some crazy research on 4th stage, the box i saw is the 4th stage and it is out right now but the problem is i think it is only the 1st and 2nd ep. of the series

That is true, the first dvd came out on March 9th online and from what i have heard (sources) they are only doing 1 episode a month and in that case it could be a 30-45min episode due to the time they are doing it in. I had a synopsis of the whole series if you guys would like to see...If i can find it on my hd again!

I was under the impression that 4th stage would be a movie. NextDayAnime.com (popular Hong Kong burn site) has it listed as a "Special". Where did you here that it would be released as episodes?

well for me when i got to HK in july i'm gonna see if i can get the complete set of stage 4 -=D but if i cant wait till then i can jus hope over to the dvd store and pick it up there so either way for me its good
