I think he means something like motion blur (not really, but..). You know how when you take a snapshot from an anime and the image isn't very refined, with weak edges and all?

That's what I see anyway. It's more evident around the comet. You can have polished up motion-blur, and then there's the unclean sort of blur. I think it falls in the latter one a bit.

Even the stars upon closer inspection look unfocused compared to the foreground and text.

I'm not making much sense, am I?

Choppy how? Like non-uniform? I used a snapshot as the base of the background, but incorporated an actual photo of a comet. I'll check it out on my computer at work today, because sometimes my laptop screen doesn't show me small subtleties of colour and shades very well.

Yeah i could tell it was. You might want to use some very light blur and darken it a bit to make it look less like a snapshot

If you up the psd i could try and disguise it better, i've lately gained some experience with that sort of thing

Thanks for the feedback, guys. I see what you're saying, Archie. It's actually due to the photo of the comet, rather than the screenshot, because I was too lazy to erase the stuff around it, so those rough looking stars are from the comet picture. Here's a touched up version where I went back and erased around the comet and muted the stars in the screenshot a bit. It changes the tone of the sig, I think, from like, 'Meteoric explosion of stars and spacedust' to 'Mysterious meteor cruises through subdued skies'.

Hmm, I like that the comet seems more smooth without the rough edges, but I also liked the wider and softer aura the previous one had. Maybe you can erase the ends the light aura border with a soft brush to make it meld into the night sky. And is it just me or is the comet trail curved this time? I liked the previous trail better.

The BG looks much better now with the toned down stars. The darker corners also make it less monotonous.Text also appears clearer. Looks overall better IMO.

Avatar given to me by shinta. I edited the sig from shinta's concept. The Red Kanji is saki and the green one is Oyabun. And oh my name is spelled "oyabun" not "oyabin". Like I stated in my sig. Comments are very much appreciated.

I personally really like the edits you made to the basic sig concept. The blue waves do well in adding colour and movement to the sig. It also matches the avatar as a bonus.

I was thinking of adding some angel feathers along the sides that would stand out even more in the darkness and then maybe even add a small and not too intrusive line of text to the near right

I like the 2nd one best among the black and white ones. The image is balanced, and the text is cute. It just seems complete, especially because it makes use of the black and white style so well. I like the image used in the first one (especially how it is placed and fitted in the sig), but a colored version will be many times better. To be honest, the third one is simply not on par with the others.

Are you planning to remove the hands on that Hitagi one? Araragi is practically invisible there, so it might be a good idea to simply make it look like she is falling/floating. The feathers seem like a good idea. For the text, I would recommend using a vertical one on both sides, just to keep the symmetrical effect already present with the BG.

I like your Idea. Maybe you could lessen the feathers a little bit, and tweak the opacity a little higher.. You can also put a mild glow in the feathers and make Senjougahara stand out more.
