And like I said. The source had the same background style. Go tell Atlus they don't match.

I'm thinking it did match ( for them ) since they used that background on all their character's right? Probably because it makes sense if take the story into account.

In terms of colors, in my opinion, the render doesn't match with the background

I don't know about any cute fonts... well, maybe cuisine but that's it

But the background/render looks blurry anyway, you should look for something else

The render is generally the most important part of the sig. If it has poor quality, it makes it all the more difficult to make a decent sig. There should be a lot of Rise pics with much better quality, so use those.

If you want cute fonts, you can find some at dafont.com.

Definitely, RZ and Persona 4 are overkill. The other words look good though.

I think the white compensates for the less-than-stellar-quality scan. It's still a tad blurry due to the quality, but it gets portrayed as an "effect" rather than a bad scan because the white gives the sig a "dreamy" effect

Better than the red ones IMO.

Honestly haven't touched photoshop in years.

But I think it is a good try, but the render, the background and the text don't flow together.

I suggest you get a better render or do some touch up work on it. Try blurring and fading some layers. Mess with a bit and the background as well until you are comfortable with it. Mess with the contrast and sharpness of the render create copies of the layer and mess with they transparency.

The Font could work, but it stands out more that the render does, try reducing the size and change the pixel size in the highlights. Also try blurring and change this contrast of a few layers of the text itself as well as mess with it's transparency.

Border is nice but try a different color just for kicks see what you come up with.

Your tag could be a like a tattoo on her arm or something. Try bending it to fit.

@shinta|hikari - Thanks for posting your sigs in an order... I actually saw you had done that the day of (or day after) your post, I just didn't log in to thank you at the time. As for my comments on them, the Asuka (non-realistic), CANAAN, and Pandora Hearts sigs are my favourite out of the list (with the PH being my favourite). I've never been good with critiquing, so I won't go down that road, but I will say that I like that they are all simplistic in nature. On other forums you see sigs that are overloaded with C4D, text, vectoring, etc., and as a result, lose the luster they could have had (most of them anyways... some are really nicely done even with everything thrown in). Don't get me wrong though, I'm not calling your sigs simple, just that I like the simplistic feel of them vs. cluttered sigs you could find elsewhere.

@RyougaZell - I haven't noticed if you've uploaded any other works, but judging by your comments, I'm going to assume you are still learning the ropes for Photoshop? The best advice I can give is to take a look at sig tutorials (found on this site or other sites) and combine the techniques you learn/like to make your own style of sig. As for improving the quality of your image, I believe there is also a small tut on that in the tut thread. However my best advice for that is to just find a better quality render, if possible :P
And as for text... well I'm not the best with text either so I can't give you any advice on that. But, just keep playing around with things... it may be frustrating, but eventually you'll come up with techniques you like to use and your pieces will improve. Keep practicing!

Now that that's out of the way, I have a question for you sig-makers. What photo-hosting site do you recommend to host sigs, that won't reduce their quality after upload. I currently use Photobucket, but after I upload a piece, the quality turns to shit... becomes pixelated and blurry, etc. I'm not sure why... I never had a problem with it before. I had to stop using my sig here (it just simply said "alhuin"... most of you might remember it) because of this sudden quality reduction. I have a few pieces that are close to finished and I would like to post them for some critiques.

Meh, I've always used PB and it never had a problem until now... a lot of my sigs that I uploaded there were just fine when and after I uploaded them, until just recently, and they got messed up. So unless PB changed their size limit for an upload, I don't think that's it.

And about imageshack... I've always hated it because of the damn advertisements you have to bypass when you're looking at pictures (you know, the... click here to continue to your image... thing). But is that what anyone else recommends instead of PB?
