Not up to expectations! Now, I don't mean to offend in anyway. ^^

'But' if I dont say it no ones gonna respond for quite some time simply because they themselves don't want to state the truth. And the truth hurts, but I cant feed KKz lies.

I'm not gonna comment on your mistakes simply because I know you already know them. You just need a couple hours in photoshop to jog your memory. And I know your next photoshop job is gonna blow most of us away and make me eat my above criticism! =)

I'll say one thing though, because it would just be plain rude to type all this out just to say it sucks without giving a reason. Its a basic step too, which backs up my statement that you just need to get rid of the rust. Your render quality is nonexistent! Choose a nice and shiny one next time KitKatZ! So with your next one we can return to normalcy by showering you with praise! Good lucks.

O, and I do very much like your third siggy, now if only the renders were made of better stuff! =P

@ my C.C. competition
I prefer the solid blocks, it just works so well. As to my 'quickie', I can only say its a quickie just because of how many times I've worked with fading patterns and lighting before. When doing my current for example, it took more than a couple hours. One you get a style down though, it just take a few minutes to replicate.

Well... I finally opened photoshop, one of the few times I have since I reinstalled windows, and decided to try out Z's little thing, and well, here is what came out.... I know they are not the best so don't worry, please, by all means, criticize me...

Thanks for the comments and encouragements, Luci. Although, I think you likely over-estimate my photoshop skills. It's been so long since I was really into photohop, and even then most of my good sigs were happy accidents. We'll see if I manage to get my sig quality up to par again.

@Spiegel - I think if you use the left side (the black version) of the fourth sig on its own it will turn out the best.

This Zinobi style has become quite a fad. I now dub it the "Zinobi Effect" never to be claimed by anyone else, at least in these forums.

Well, it does look better with the contrast on the right side, but I was referring to not using the inverted image altogether and focusing on the left side alone (like the first 2 versions). I dont know, I just dont like inverted colors, but maybe thats justme.

@Shinata: With you saying that, I think I have an idea, but I will have to find a good render to fit with it, I will see what I can do when I have some time to look for renders, if not, I may have to make one.

Yep, I really Iike the contrast between the render and the bg. Do you have a tutorial for that type of sig?

To be honest, I didn't like outcome after spending two hours on it. I expected it to be easier on the eyes but still a good signature.

As to the tutorial, now that you've asked about one, I have to make it.

so, it's again been awhile since I've done anything in Photoshop...

I started out trying to follow Lucifus' tutorial, but I rather quickly abandoned that. For some reason, I couldn't find a C4D to do what I wanted... It simply filled the sig with too much dark areas, and I couldn't get it to look the way I wanted by erasing...

Well, here's the progression:


Basic render, desaturized background


Render duplicated and set to Overlay. A layer of soft brushing (with a huge brush), lighter on the top left, darker on the bottom right. And that whole big mess on top is the render set to Hard Light Blending... (Most of it has also been erased with a soft brush, so you can imagine how dark it was to begin with).

After several unsuccessful attempts to follow through with the Tut, I did an about face.


Basically, I found a new C4D and, soft erased a good portion of it, and set it on top with Hard Light Blending. Then I duplicated the original C4D, erased less of it, put it on the very top on Soft Light (most of the erasng was in the middle of the sig, around the render)


So here's where I went nuts. I turned on the C4D from version 2, but on Vivid Light at a low Fill, erasing most of it on the right side. I played around with the two C4D layers from version 3 (Drop Shadow and Satin on the Hard Light) (Inner Glow on the Soft Light). A layer of brushing on top of that. The render copied and set to Hard Light on top of that. Then Color Balance (but Masked out of the center of the render). Saturation down, Lightness up. Magenta Photo Filter. Brushing for a 'mist' effect. Border.

It's certainly not my best ever. I'd love to hear what people have to say. I know it can be improved, but I'm pretty much at my wit's end with this.

I like the effects... just that, I think the render should face the other way, due to the shading on the face and cloak.

@Lucifus - Thanks a million for the tutorial. Ill try it out as soon as I find a good CC render. I think the Masked Ichigo sig is the best among the 3. As always, great work.

edit - Lucifus, that Vaizard Ichigo one is badass! Definitely the best out of those three.

From the two C.C. ones you posted, I like the 1st one best. The brushing is awesome and it's just sexier and more sultry! The yellow/orange tint/glare in the second one sometimes clashes with her hair (especially right above the eyes)

yeah, i freaking realized just way too late that it'd be better going the other way...

Deadfire also gave me some pointers, but that one will have to wait for another day to get finished...

so, have this brand new, ultra sexy Cloud Strife sig instead!!!

It looks alright Turkish, pretty plain an simple. I'd probably see if there were any effects or filters to apply though.
