Anyway, heres a new sig I made to keep my skills sharp for the competition. If it meets the requirements, i'll probably enter as I won't have much time to photoshop once school starts back up.
Two versions, which do you all prefer?

@zinobi - I really like it. It should look even better though, if you make the text part of the design, which should not be too hard because it uses lines and blocks.
@lucifus - agreed with simplicity is beauty, which is why I prefer the first one. Just maybe darken the colors and improve contrast like the second one.

lucifus, that naruto one is awesome. I agree about the Haku one... not the best result from that effect... In the Naruto one, though, I'm not loving the text. The font looks too 'show-boaty' and boisterous, and the mood of the sig doesn't really fit that...
the second CC one is preferrable, because of the effect it has on enhancing the text... but I don't like what the brushing did on the left side...
Shinta: the sig is nice, but way too 'flat'. Try to make either the flowers or CC stand out more from the other.
Zinobi: man, you really need to make a tutorial for how to use patterns and stuff like that. outstanding BG

It's really easy to do
Just Copy Render Layer
Scale Larger a little bit
Filter > Pixelate > Mosaic 8-12px
FIlter > Stylize > Find Edges
Then just stretch (oh god) to fit
Might make one but I think that gives it justice.

That is a cool effect. Neat. I'm glad you shared it with us, Zinobi! And shinta, I think I like the version with the solid blocks of colour better. It gives it a bit more depth and interest.
I agree with KitKat. I actually thought the solid blocks gave it more character (less monotonous).

EDIT: I tried raising the opacity a bit, since people seem to like the one with solid colors better.

Dam I wish I could use photoshop like you guys. Haven't used it since high school but ya, simple is great.
@Lucifus: The first Saber sig is great man, its so clean looking and the text doesn't overpower the rest of the picture. Also your milly sig is also good, I still find it hard to believe its a quickie >.<
@Shinta : I think the second C.C. is better, great job.
Personally when it comes to C.C. sigs im easily pleased. But then again you two seem great at turning out good sigs. Keep it up

What better time to reinstall photoshop after not thinking about it for half a year, than after you've pulled an all-nighter and still have a giant pile of homework to do!
I did some experimenting with Zinobi's technique with an Erementar Gerad render, and then did another with a landscape BG. I'm so rusty. Comments?
