Thread: New sig or wallpaper? show it off here!

  1. #3561
Thanks for the feedback guys. Pretty much everything mentioned I felt completely the same about. I looked at them this morning an my second one almost gave me a seizure lol. I am probably going to completely redesign them. I hate wasting so much time on making sigs that I end up hating.

Hey, it's not a waste of time if you're learning! I have a lot of sigs I made when I first started that I think are pretty terrible, but they all helped me learn a lot about sig making and improve. I'm really impressed with all the improvement I'm seeing here from those of you relatively new to the sig-making scene. Just a couple of suggestions for some things I'm seeing repeatedly. First, try to have one point of focus on your sig, and make everything else designed so that it draws the viewer's eyes to that point of focus. You can have a relatively busy with a lot of images if they're not fighting for attention but rather complementing each other and designed around one point of focus. Also, spend a lot of time on text. You don't want your text to look like it was slapped on top of the design, rather it needs to be part of the design, complementing the atmosphere of the sig and placed carefully. As for how to achieve these things, well, I'm still learning myself. But they're good to keep in mind as you're designing. I really like coming here and seeing the things you guys are coming up with. It makes me want to get back into photoshop myself and start making some new sigs.

@ Eura: It's good to see you making sigs again! You're one of my favourite artists.

I made a series of Studio Ghbli sigs today. You can take a look at them here. I've been doing requests for a Tokusatsu forum, so you can also check out what I've done there.

I would like that sig if you just made the BG green so it matched and then change the text abit.

Yeah, it looks better b/c the BG and render should match. Not just a random color.

Anyways, I feel it's time for a new sig. And I'm letting you guys choose. So, which one?

    A request on another forum:

It's a bit too dark. I'm really loving my new brushes though~
I definetly wish I still had a copy of Photoshop. There's so much I want to try out.

Third. I love that pic of Shikamaru

Yet another request. I tested some things, and I think it still came out very nicely.

Master_me, that is a great sig. Keep em going!

Lucifus- quite honestly man, I don't like any of them. I prefer the darker blue background over the green one, but I am not really feeling either of them. I don't know if I don't like the render used or the background... I just feel like neither of the two compliment each other much. Sorry I can't be more specifc (a bit durnk)
    The text is great though.

xDark: The Gaara one is the best by far.

Psyke: Those are all very nice works, but I still think you can do more with backgrounds. Keep it up

@master_me You are getting pretty good :P

    I'm official.

  18. #3578
    Aye, thanks everyone!
Zinobi - I love both of the sigs. The first one could use a bit of work on the text, but it's wonderful imo.

I also have a new signature and avatar:

Finally, I've done one that I absolutely love, maybe because it's from one of my fav. animes, but I'll let you guys see what you think

Well is it a keeper?(not that it matters, I'm keeping it anyway.)

The Renders don't go too bad with that background, ya could add a little glow to the text and a border, but other than all that, I'm definatly liking it. Nice job!
