In the mech link it says right in the begining that a mech is a giant robot piloted or remote controlled. Optimus is neither so he would classify as a robot.

in the graphic community we refer to photographs as stocks and non-photographed images as renders (or if its like a cut out photographed picture then its still a render cause its been rendered).

As for mechs ...The original Japanese term of mecha has the broader denotation of all mechanical objects, includingcars, guns, computers, and other objects without pilots or limbs.

But yea, I know it's from Transformers, I watched it when I was a kid
