Itachi the first one needs some work but the second one is great. One suggestion, dont use the same effect on all of your text that you use. Or just leave it plain with a stroke.

This is a wallpaper I just did on Sanzo from Saiyuki. Actually, all I did was to color the picture and add two lines of words on it. But this is the first time I tried to color something, and I would appreciate it if any of you guys could give me advice or tips on how to improve. I used the blur tool a lot so that the edges between two colors are not very pronounced --> is that the correct way to do it? Somehow it feels like a really ghetto way of doing things heh. Oh, also, I think I botched up the hair. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img] Damn, it's difficult. I'm totally clueless on which parts should be darker and which parts should be lighter. Bleh.
that's heaps cool yallo, i don't have advice for you, but PurfektZero is a good colourist, he has a thread here, he should be able to help you.
Keep practicing though.

there are probably 4/5 more of those on there too; but it's pretty cool even though the reason as to why you made this is no where to be found at the moment(talking to FF)
