I agree, it looks like you stretched it and messed up the proportions.
@BoC: I tried it, but IMO it just didn't look too good. Although if woofcat likes it I'll change it for him.

However, I'd take animated avatars over an extra 20x20. I'd love to use my animated version of this Ergo Proxy one:

I like your new avatar, DF (even if I wasn't quickly able to spot a post referring to it). It's a very warm and friendly looking one, missing much of the sharpness (feeling wise) your earlier ones had. Good work.

Just messing with some brushes and decided to render another Saber pic.
The same goes for the text. Just some toying around with different ideas and this was the one that stood out most to me. Comment/Suggestions welcome as always.

Text and render stand out too much. The background needs more dark areas to match the shadowed areas on Saber. Other than that, the style of background is nice. Just change the coloring.
OR......
Drastically change the levels and curves on the render, then darken the background a lot but leave one bright spot. I believe this would give a silhouette type of look.
I was bored and wanted to test a render blending technique. Everything sort of... blends too well.
