Definitely version one PSJ. My only complaint is it is a little hard to see where the render ends and where the BG begins.
Yea i used the render to make the bg.
I don't usually show the stuff I do here, due to the fact that most of you guys here are way better than what I'm capable of, and that the stuff I do are mostly related to Tokusatsu rather than anime. But I've just set up a new page of what I've done till now, so do check it out. Here's the link:

You got a very unique style Psyke, i like it alot actually, very simple and not to serious. I liked the spiderman one very much, don't know how much you actually did in that one though.
I totally agree, very unique and simple, yet it looks good most of the time. This might be a noobish question but, what is that? Like, Japanese Power Rangers?
@Heero: I like the idea, but they are not the best they could be. The text could use some fixing and you should add a border. You should also find better pictures of the 1st and 2nd or enhance those pics to make them look better. You also need the fifth.
PSJ - I honestly like the first one better. The second version's scanlines look sort of odd, maybe lower the opacity, or have less spacing in between? I do like the text, though~
I'm aware these are both the same backgrounds XD;
I do like the way they turned out, though.
This wasn't supposed to be "good" or anything, but I was just testing a different way of
coloring my backgrounds which apparently works well enough that I'll use it in the future.
...I'm still using Imageready whilst Photoshop is broken.

Tokusatsu is a genre in Japan which refers to live action shows, such as Masked Rider, Power Rangers (known as Sentai), and Ultraman. It's been labelled as "Power Rangers" in most other parts of the world due to the series being "Americanised", but back in Japan it's pretty much main stream, and definately not all Tokusatsu shows are aimed at kids. There are shows for adults as well, such as the recently concluded Garo, with enough gore and nudity to have a late night time slot.
As for the Spider-man sig, I did nothing at all, only re-sizing and changing the positon of the number "3". Just made it because I liked that image.

master_me, i love the border you added to the GTA sig, but I'm not so sure it fits with the background so well. Maybe try to spice up the background a little bit or change it to a more 'futuristic/high-tech' feel to match the border. Good work tho.
Heero, Good products for a first try. The text needs to be changed so it's all visible and you should try Narutomaster's quality enhancing technique on the pics of the 1st and 2nd. Next step would be to maybe mess with some brushing and blending to give each a more individual feel. Great start

@master_me: Aye, it's certainly a very impressive border / frame you have drawn. Not an easy task, no doubt. Although masa might be right with what he said. The frame is looks very scifi, whereas he actual picture inside doesn't, so there's a slight clash, even if the frame colour helps somewhat..
Yeah, I'm going to edit the city a bit so it looks slightly more hi-tech I suppose. I was testing a new border and that was my latest work, so, I went with it.

Having a hard time choosing from two sigs I made. These are my first attempts at photoshop. Tell me what you think.
I'm leaning towards the second one. I like the edgier look. I was trying to figure out how to make a crystalized looking background but haven't figured it out just yet. I'll get it eventually though.
One thing I can't figure out, what happens if I want to change the settings for a filter I've already placed up? The only way I could figure it out was deleting it and reapplying it with the different settings. Any other easier way?
You really should put the render on top in the second one that would look alot better.
Well, the filters work pretty much in real time, so undoing them and applying a new with different settings, like you have been doing, is pretty much the only way. In the end only layer effects and blending options, layer transparencies and such are things that don't directly touch to bitmap information, and are thus infinitely adjustable without loss of information.
Your first sig is more harmonious but somewhat faint. The second one is more clear, aggressive and strong, but it looks quite raw and unfinished (the text effect is much better than in the first though).
In my opinion you might want to play around in PS for little longer hunting for a more balanced feeling. Clearly you didn't achieve your vision yet because you said you didn't succeed in creating the crystallized background. Whilst filters can create fancy surfaces and effect, it's indispensable to first know what you want and then try to create it, no matter how long it takes.
Got the effect I wanted. I like this one a lot. Probably will end up using this one.
EDIT: Also just finished this one for a friend. I like the way it came out.

That is much better than your first two, you definitely found some balance. I might tune down the effect a bit around his head though. Keep up the good work.
Okay, so I think I'm finished with my Samus sig. If you can't tell, the text reads "Samus Aran". I think it looks pretty decent.
Also, I update my Predator sig and changed the text around. I think it looks okay... but it probably still needs some work.
By the way, nice sigs everyone the posted since I was gone for the weekend. Some were pretty good for a first try, and some needed some work. But I think everyone else has commented on those parts, so I won't bother.
Also, where has Kage gone?
