Mmh, as Augury has said already, its weird that no one has said anything about Shikamaru being pretty much alive and well at the moment.

What I mean is, Chouji over-exerted his body - almost dead if not dead.
Neji got a few holes all around his torso - almost dead, if not dead.
Kiba has a nasty wound in his stomach and may be swimming around a rapid - almost dead if not dead!

And given that Tayuya has just gone into level 2, she's not going down that fast... and, even better, she's not going to be killed by a kunai. A simple kunai has never killed _anyone_ in this show so far, and Tayuya (being the equivalent of a dungeon boss) wont be the exception.

So its obvious that Tayuya vs. Shikamaru is not done yet... Shika has a broken finger only. He has to go to the near-death state before killing her/disabling her... or at least thats what the patter would say.

And c'mon, Mitsurugi... its called taunting. It happens all of the time in anime and manga!!
Besides, Tayuya's summons only eat chakra/life energy... so they'd have to stomp Shikamaru to kill him, and then they'd get close to him, and then they'd get Shadow-binded, and its the same thing all over again.
