Please shut down gotwoot? Until it's ready!

I'm tired of this shit, Please close this forum and fix it, open it when everything is done and ready. We're waiting on alot of things avatars, signatures etc, new scheme etc...

Because now the only thing we do is waiting, or is it just me that feels so..?

Shutting it down is not a solution... just don't come by... if anything I would suggest going back to the old forums until this layout is perfected... but I don't know if it will cause problems or is not worth the hassel

I think ... with any new piece of software, there's always two options: deploy it and bugfix and tweak as you go, or try to get it perfect and do all the bugfixes and tweaks before you deploy. The difference is that one of these methods gets you onto the new software, and the other one doesn't.

Just like with the last board they used. Put it up. See what happens. Try to tweak it to make people happy later. It's easier to find where bugs are given a reasonably high loading (high load makes bugs manifest themselves faster), and thus gets us all using the new forums at a higher level of usability faster...

Or something like that

I can't agree more. Theres only so much testing we can do localy. We thought we had all the bugs worked out before we deployed but we were wrong and didnt notice any till we made them go live. That was when you, the users found them and reported them to us.

As for the design, you might as well get used to it this is pretty much what we're gonna leave it at.

Sigs do work, if any of you bothered to read the other posts in this forum you would know how to use them, or if you bothered to click the link in your profile where you edit your sig that shows you the special codes. I am not going to explain how to do this again, you can look in either of the two afore mentioned areas and figure it out yourself.

As for shutting down the forums, that isnt going to happen.

Why wait? you can still post. Thats the point of forums you know, to post stuff so other people can read them. Maybe you dont understand the concept behind a forum. How about I help you out:

Dictionary.com Reference
fo·rum ( P ) Pronunciation Key (fôrm, fr-)
n. pl. fo·rums, also fo·ra (fôr, fr)

1.
1. The public square or marketplace of an ancient Roman city that was the assembly place for judicial activity and public business.
2. A public meeting place for open discussion.
3. A medium of open discussion or voicing of ideas, such as a newspaper or a radio or television program.
2. A public meeting or presentation involving a discussion usually among experts and often including audience participation.
3. A court of law; a tribunal.

No where does it say 'A place to show off user made content', i.e. sig images or avatars. If you still aren't happy, feel free to go someplace else. We cant make everyone happy all the time, but atleast we can make some of the people happy most of the time.

Wilik, if sigs are working fine, then what did I do wrong? I used the tags exactly as they are posted, and exactly as you told us to. As you can see, This stream of text is all I can get. Please show me exactly what I did wrong.

I keep replying to posts and getting this "Message title must be between 1 and 255 characters long" error. Considering I've had to retype the same rather wordy message several times, this is REALLY annoying.

I've seen that, if you click on "anime" instead of "forums" at the top of a page, for example.
But if you click on "forums" you should get the normal main page. I dunno what's up with that, but there it is.
