Sigs and avas going away??

Listen ciber, we've been more than civil. Our "childish tantrum" is simply us informing the others that something as ridiculous as this doesn't need to be tolerated. You're not listening to our requests, which is fine. But don't stop us from letting others know that there are forums out there that don't ban sigs....and you're the one being immature, not us. You're insulting us personally for speaking our minds.

If you're so secure in the greatness of your forum, you should have nothing to fear from us posting the link.

So, ciber, in every rational, reasonable response I have posted, you have not made a single reply in kind to suggest any alternates. In fact, all you have done is basically called me stupid (not to mention childish) and simply suggested that I should shut up and deal with it.

Give me one good, reasonable response besides "You're stupid." "You're childish." or anything OTHER than "We're not listening to you." and I'll eat my words. In the meantime, I'll say whatever I damn well please about other forums.

I've been more than civil also, i've spent the last 3-4 days trying to explain to you kids why these things are gone.



Yes, I have a problem with it. You don't see me going over to other forums posting crap or advertising for them.

If you post reasonable limits, I will abide by them. I have always maintained that I will.

Furthermore, I HAVE read your other posts, and nothing viable has been said about alternatives, only reasons stating why sigs are no good and why they weren't going to be included in the new version.

Either hold a vote, or set up an option under preferences to show/not show sigs and I will happily eat my hat, apologize to all and sundry and grovel at your feet.

well ill stay neutral, but why do you care so much for sigs? you call Ciber immature yet your the one who is arguebly advertising/spammingcause you dont have sigs, I see what Ciber means, theres more to a forum then sigs, sure their enjoyable but its not the focal point of the forum nor the focal point of Ciber's (and probably the other admins} life. So if suddenly gotwoot isnt good enough cause of the sig situation, then you probably are better off to leave, considering you were never a true member of this forum anyway if youthink like that.

My problem with the mods was not so much sigs, as it was the way the mods handled the decision. I felt that my specific issues had been ignored and instead was just told to get over it.

I've had a private conversation with ciber, and while I still miss sigs, now that I've heard him out I think we've agreed to disagree.

What would have stopped this whole debate from happening would have been an official announcement of the change and details on exactly what would occur before the forums had made the switch over; ciber has agreed to post a formal announcement detailing everything specifically, and I'm satisfied with that.

I'm tired; perhaps I'm not making much sense. But, with the official announcement soon to be posted, and the details laid bare in one place for all to see, I am satisfied.

There already is! IN your profile, click on personal options (at the top) and then check yes after the option block signatures.

I know this whole issue seems to be over for now, but here's my 2c anyway.

I may be repeating things already said, for that I apologize but I'm just reiterating.

Sigs are still able to be discussed, critiqued, etc on these forums. That part hasn't changed at all. It seems to me the only difference (correct me if I'm wrong) is that a particular sig of your choice won't be displayed at the end of each of your posts.

Is that really such a big deal? You can present them through links as much as you like it seems, people can offer feedback at any point. The only thing is that we don't see the picture automatically every single post you make. It really shouldn't be an issue, I don't know why everyone is making a mountain out of a molehill.

Considering that this is an anime forum officially, it's purpose is for discussing anime. There is a section for fanart, it's true, and you can discuss and present sigs in that section as much as is desired. Sorry to repeat myself again, but it's a very small detail that the sig you're discussing won't show up in every post.

Stay for the discussion, which is frequently of high quality. If you're after pure art forums, or forums that are specifically designed for artistic merit, then there are plenty of them out there.

Sigs are just a completely uneccesary bonus that don't add anything to what this forum is designed for - anime discussion. Personally I agree with Ciber in the fact that everything looks nice and clean and uncluttered. It's a refreshing change.

Yeah, it's too bad that the diagreement escalated into a war zone, I just felt it was taking away a good thing. Ciber sent me a link to what he wanted the forums to look like, and it was all text, linear, and way to formal.

I'll refrain from futher bitching, it's not my place. I'd rather post on a fun, colourful, un-businesslike forum...sorry if I seemed rude, it was not my intention, I guess I was just angry. But i'm not a n00b kid![img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/img] so don't call me that!!


And CMDR, I don't want to find another forum, because I like gotwoot, it's members and it's variety....that's why i was making such an issue.

why the fuck would we wanna discuss and critique sigs here if we cant fucking use them? If we wanna use em on another forum we would ask for sig critiqueing from the forum that allowed them. Nobody on the other side of the fence admits it but they are killing sig discussion no matter what you say that "we can still discuss and critique them" it becomes an act of fucking futility, at least recognize that.

I really hate to say this but since the change a lot less people have been posting on these forums. I dunno if it's because of the forum layout or if it's because of the sig rule but something has to be done about this because in my eyes these forums are going downhill.

It is because people are less happy now then before, most users want sigs and a easier type of forum, most users think that this layout sucks..

Ciber seems to have a definitive, business-like vision for gotwoot forums, and that's his perogative. Hopefully he has enough like-minded naruto fans to make his board a success. I'm sticking around for the sig contest, but I don't expect I'll be around much longer after that.

From what I've been seeing there've been 20-40 people on since the forums changed. Last I recall, there would be 10-25 people before the changes.

Well, there IS a forum for people to critique your signatures, when you had them. It was called the test forum. Here's its descript, right under its name, for the world to see. "Use this forum to test sigs and whatever since each time you update your avatar or your sig it will show up in each post you have made[...]"

And people aren't talking about the benefits of sigs because they're too busy complaining about the fact that they can't use 'em anymore. The FanArt forum, as I stated before, is a place to critique ART. Graphics, too, sure.. It shouldn't be a place to "Try On" new signatures. It's cool that you can find them.
