I think they're making a different version of it it because the previous anime movie was so dreadful, I've only read the first book of the Appleseed manga but it was so much better than the first film, this new one looks quite seriously cool, in terms of visuals its probably the coolest animated thing I've seen (from the trailer)...

Excuse my while I wipe the drool off my keyboard.

Oh man, that looks good. It seems as if they've stuck truer to the mangas than the first film did (even though it was based on the second book). The first film was good, but lacked the things that would make it exceptional (like Akira or GitS), but now it seems that they've gone and made a film that truly mirrors what the books are about.

Another milestone for Shirow-san. It seems as if all his works are currently being re-worked and re-mastered (GitS became MMI and SAC, etc). I suppose that's what you can do with a budget (and having Shirow's name on it ).

Just a pity we'll never see it in cinemas here in Blighty. Just like GitS, Akira, etc, etc, need I go on? Britain sucks for anime.

It does indeed, and when we do get it, we're charged like £20 for each 3 or 4 episodes of a series

A mate of mine knows of a cinema in Manchester that shows Japanese films so I'm praying they show this film there....but I doubt it.

That looks great i remember the first film i liked it but it wasn't in the same league as say Gits, Akira, or Spriggan

This looks like it could be a new standard as far as films go.

    Is the manga good?

The first book was good, I liked the artwork in it, but to read the following books I'd actually have to buy the books for like £15 (i got the first one out of a huge bundle i got dead cheap) and I have Akira to finish and others to start yet...I'm sure it gets better as the story goes on...
