Didn't really think they would cut it out, unless they got really lazy and decided that animating 100's of bugs for a long fight wasn't worth the effort and moola
Curious as to why they had Temari stop Sasuke instead of Kankuro though... can't see it being anything other than filler. Temari doesn't even put up a good fight. And unless a third character comes and gets Gara from Kankuro and I can't see Gara just passed out while Shino battles with Kankuro, leaves Temari as the person to catch up to Sasuke and Kankuro and carry away Gara. So that little fight scene was to... show us how weak Temari is?
Obviously you haven't read the manga so I would advise you to stay away from here.
Overall the episode was good. I guess they are gonna finish the hokage fight before they move on to naruto and gaara. At least thats what it seems like from the preview.

Ok for everyone having problems with the Bakasan releases try a simple fix. Try opening it with the Divx Player. Sometimes there are problems with the codec association when you use windows media player.

i doubt they'll cut the shino fight, my guess is temari catches back up to kankuro and gaara somehow, i don't exactly know how they are going to work that out.
but anyway, i wish these episodes came out faster, i have been deffinitly been eager to see them animate the naruto gaara battle, so i can't wait to see that.
also is it just me but in the manga when it was in that flashback of the 3rd and the 2 anbu meeting oro in that little room, it showed bodies of the missing shinobi from the village hanging off the wall, and in the anime they cut that out, it doesn't suprise me too much. Just wondering if anyone else picked up on that.

Yeah you're right oni. I think they have just been cutting down on the gore and violence because parents are getting angry. Sucks
i didn't have many problems watching the episodes, wmp crashed a couple times and i can't say i like the bakasan translations too much

I've read somewhere that having too many codecs, or a bundle of codec bundles can do more harm than good. More isn't always better, heard it can cause some videos to not run or crash. Personally, never had it happen to me.
Peguin, are you just installing the codecs over one another? I believe its better to have just the codecs you need, so you need to remove the older ones completely. I believe some of them leave hidden files lying around, you'll need to ask someone on how to remove them completely if that's the case.
Dunno, but I've found that since the last episode I've been looking forward less and less to Naruto... even though I know some of the best is coming up... just really disappointed with the art.

Episode was pretty decent, though the art was still pretty unimpressive. Was the shampoo part supposed to be funny? Maybe its just not my type of humor. Only other problem I had was with Temari.. the fight was nice, but I hope they don't cut out Shino's... I wanted to see him in action. Only reason I mention this is because unless they are planning some changes from the manga, Temari took Kankuro's place...
Not really a major issue, but I was sort of expecting the hokage battle to be much more.. intense. Maybe my imagination is too vivid.
Edit: Maybe I should be more specific, the art at the beginning with the forest, particularly Naruto and Sakura, wasn't that great. Also the scene where Sasuke tells the three "I won't let you run any further" ... he's smiling, as if he just got a McDonald's toy and he was 3...that kind of ruined the scene. Who threatens someone with a goofy grin on their face?
But yeah, the flashback was done nicely, and as Diablotf said, the images of Konoha's ninjas, past and present, at different ages, were nicely drawn. I wonder if they're going to have Sasuke chase after Kankuro, Temari catches up and grabs Gara and runs, and then Sasuke squares off with Kankuro? Seems unlikely, though if not, will they cut out the Kankuro and Shino fight?</span>

There have been numerous complaints about encoding problems (again) I haven't seen the file yet... but if they are i suggest using Divx Player, if that fails then try getting the latest xvid coded.
Also there are some very good pictures in this episode of Chracters when they were younger... I have created a section in our gallery for just this episode... Deifnately worth checking out :

That was an awesome episode in every sense of the word, direction, animation, music, flashbacks used well & action. The new musical piece that plays when Sandaime talks about how Konoha is not just an organization almost made me sob!
i really enjoyed the flashbacks...
btw...with the flashback with the 4th hokage...are his students:
kakashi, genma, and (someone)?
and the 1st and 2nd hokages students were:
3rd hokage, the elder guy and lady (who we saw in the council talking before 2nd exam?)
