i've started downloading a large (2GB) batch torrent, cuz using fservs on Irc is too slow (i'm waiting almost a week for one episode...), but i don't have enough free space to download all of it, and i can't burn anything yet...

so my question is: is it possible to split down a batch and "trick" BT to download only some of files from the torrent? that way once i get 3 eps i can burn them down and continue to the next episodes without having to keep the first episodes on my computer?

i know that some of you might consider this 'cheating the system', but i really need your help, so if you know about a way to do it, plz tell me.

Currently Watching: probably a show directed at 9 years old girls, lets be honest.

You know the important distinction between Batman and me? Batman is fictional. In real life, there isn't always an alternative.

Theoretically, this should be possible (since the BT protocol allows you to request pieces) - it might slow your download speed a bit (some clients would want to give you parts you do not want to receive and get 'huffy' when you refuse ).

There are currently no clients that support this, AFAIK. I suggest you check out the actively developed BT clients and ask for the feature in one of them. Good luck!
