Thread: Is it just me...

  1. #1
I think Anime One & Anbu got their raw from somewhere else this week. Notice that the file size is at 223 MBs.
Anyways if there getting their raw from another source, it means the raw was capture by a different technology, that probaly resulted in the increased in brightness level.

But I'm not an expert on the subject of raws and encoding.
    Anyone know the real answer?

i couldnt really tell the diference but the file size is a little bigger then it usually is

oh shit thats freaky i didnt even have bittorent open and i got the episode without even trying i opened it to start the download and there it was completly done

Yeah I noticed the same thing... I figure it is just a better quality episode or something...

I have heard that bigger video files look better because they use less compression. Kaizoku fansubs switched from 177Mb per episode to 233MB per episode for their One Piece fansubbing. IT helps with quality I guess, even though I can't tell the difference at all.

The RAW may have been encoded in a format called HuffYUV, which is excellent for capturing and filtering animated sources with non-photorealistic colorizations. It has these sorts of side effects too (vivid flat color, large filesize), some of which may filter down to the final XviD / DivX encode.

Here's some comparable data on the video streams:

Episode 70: DivX encoding @ 170 kbps, with a 12 bit sample size.
Episode 69: XviD encoding @ 127 kbps, with a 12 bit sample size.
Episode 64: XviD encoding @ 104 kbps, with a 16 bit sample size.

I'll see, they have began encoding some episodes with XviD, how come sometimes they have DivX sometimes XviD.

i havent watched the AA relaese yet only the saiyaman raw... is it something wrong with AA's realease?

No absolutely nothing wrong, It's a high res epsiode, 232 MB. It's just you, ANBU&AonE's Episode 70 isn't bright?, it's the opposite, it's very clear, good gamma etc..

no increasing the size of the file does not necesarrily mean that it is a better quality episode. yes either the colors may be different because of the raw that was captured, or the encoder spent more time on illuminating and shit like that. the reason for the file being bigger is either a new raw or they decided to raise the bitrate. usually routine encoding techniques will not raise the size 50-60 megs from usual.

I spoked to Turles at animeone, I asked why the filesize has been increased, he said that it was a "high-res epsiode" maybe they change the bitrate.

Yeah, 62 and 70 had both good quality...

70 has, compared to others, many many moving backgrounds. Not as good to compress as episodes with may static background pictures.

Posted it here because not sure if it's been 24 hours yet...

Was going through the episode, and I noticed the colors are really really vivid. Naruto's orange jumpsuit is neon orange (well, sorta exaggerated, but you get the idea), as well some of the other colors are pronounced.

Am I seeing things? Or is it because of the quality of the raw that the colors are different?

yeah MPEG encoding only wipes away only parts of animation (the frames that change in color). But I don't think the filesize is large because of lack of that.
