It seems that the 1st got older, like in his 40&#39;s, then handed the reigns over to the younger 2nd.

Sarutobi is the last name of the 3rd Hokage. Saru means Monkey in Japanese. That is why Kishimoto named him Sarutobi. Sarutobi Asuma is a relative of the 3rd Hokage, he looks even more like a monkey. We are not sure if Konohamaru is the son of Asuma or what, but he is most likely his nephew, I doubt they are brothers.

I believe all the episode said was that the 1st and 2nd hokages were the ones that built konohamaru up to what it is today. I don&#39;t remember seeing anything about them ruling together..I&#39;d have to check.

Did you notice that Sarutobi said -sama to the first and second hokage, those are probably the only two that he could say -sama to don&#39;t you think?

there are no spoilers in that post. Most people could assume that since Sarutobi-sensei and Asuma have the same last name, they are related.

As for what I said about the 1st and 2nd, no one knows what the hell is going on with them. It is just likely that since they BOTH knew Sarutobi, that they were both alive when he was little.

Well no one has said that they are relatives. Having the same last name doesn&#39;t mean anything. Rock Lee isn&#39;t Bruce Lee&#39;s son (just his student ) I don&#39;t think Asuma is Konohamaru&#39;s dad or the 3rd&#39;s relative.


and Itachi_ he says -dono to Kazekage. Dono is even higher than sama, it isn&#39;t used anymore in Japan. It was used by samurais and stuff.
