I for one would be very happy as the story could move on to what everyone who reads the manga will agree is the more engauging story. That is obviously the Naruto/Atasuki conflict.
I think that every character in Naruto deserves to stay....even the useless ones like Tenten.

There is a lot of personality in Naruto. However both Naruto (the character) and Sasuke have very predictable personalities since we have seen them over and over again. What makes Sasuke worse then Naruto? Nothing much. He is the main character after all, that and the fact that he is rather amusing at times, unlike Sasuke especially in later episodes. I actually liked Sasuke in the earlier episodes when his personally was more like Neji and less like Vegeta (Yah I making the DBZ comparison once again, so shot me).
I personally don’t understand why people feel the need to have a favourite character. These are the same people who have favourite bands, and favourite foods. This mentality just breeds close mindedness. </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'>
I feel exactly the same even if Naruto is a little favorit but i like all the character even useless ones like Ino. But i know wouldnt like the anime or manga as much if only Sasuke was the main character cause like you said he is very predictable,cool,good loking and stuff. Naruto is funny,annoying etc,he is simple more real than Sasuke. The first time i saw Naruto was when my brother was watching a anime that his friends lend him. I didnt understand what my brother liked with the little kid who was yealling all the time and looked strange(the hairs in face). But after five minutes after i saw more of Naruto,the ninja stuff,many good character and i was hooked.
O what an anime/manga i would miss if i left my brother room earlier.

i can name a number of people who'd own sasuke any day (just to list a few: the four, jiraya, gai, kakashi, oro, naruto, gaara, maybe even neji!
i know it might be unfair comparing adults to poor little sasuke, but i included them because they're alot of peoples' fav characters
i dont really have one fav char, i have many.. and i have to admit sasuke isn't one of them ^^ (allthough he does add some flavour to the anime, and the discussion boards
Yeah and that flavor is tuity fruity.
Vegeta went from bad (1st appearance) to good, to bad (Buu) - oh and then good again, then he went bad (if you ever watched GT)
as you can see Vegeta never really got the whole staying on one side thing down
Sasuke never was bad from the start, people just compare them because they're the co-main characters

In the far future, I think, Sasuke will beat up Naruto, then go after Itachi, then lose. Then somehow both naruto and sasuke fight him. Why not, through sakura in too. They will win of course.

IF he was gone, the series would have ended at episode 19. only intense emotions and danger is the key to bringing out kyubi and sasuke's dying triggered that emotion because he wanted to fight him so bad.
why Sasuke loses to the following:
Naruto - uhhhhh kyubi?
Gai - CMON HES A JOUNIN LIKE KAKASHI!!
Kakashi - as stated above
Neji - .....?
Gaara - demon gaara
Jiraiya - no competition?
the forth - hes kinda dead?
Orochimaru - sasuke fought pretty well the first time.

I like Sasuke as a character over Naruto. But if Sasuke fought him now, he might have a chance to win, but if Naruto gives Kyubi a call, hes screwed.
No one can kill Naruto w/o first going through Kyubi.

I dont think he will kill naruto, just beat him, because Naruto will hold back. Nevertheless he will be very injured, and sasuke will be overconfident and will want to fight Itachi. However this scenario wont take place for a very long time.
