hakeem_21 if you check the date when it was written it says 3rd of august 2003, that's long time ago.

posted on 2003-08-03 23:03:35 The official website of the upcoming Peacemaker Kurogane anime is now online, though it is only a splash page at present. Additionally, the live action Cutey Honey movie has a new site, but like Kurogane's, no content is yet available.
hmm do they mean that they don't have information about it yet?

RE: PMK

wouldn't be surprised if they made a movie. I did a google search for shinsengumi after watching PMK and damn seems like these guys are uber popular. I saw some pics from a tv series based on shinsengumi but gotta say it looked cheesy as hell.

Damn this series could've been so great, WHY!? did this anime end like this, in this episode and most others they just switched from character to character and nothing really happend, they said something about a choshu guy escaped to some place, they could've killed him, etc, all the characters, what happend and suzu the white-haired guy what happend he just sat there...

The only good thing with this episode was when that american-influence guy tried to sing the star spangled banner, LOL

Man this series, COULD'VE been the best one, but it ended up like this, this is sad, i'm crying!!!!!!

They started scenes that still dosen't got an answer, to many things that still need to be revealed but yet didn't

OshadowO: Can you link me for some shinsengumi sites, it's really intresting, I've found a few but I want to read more?

I actully liked the ending. I know they left a lot of issues unresolved (suzu especially) but it was nice to see Tetsu finally get accpetance, and tatsu come to terms with it. Plus the bit with Saya was touching.

I still dunno what the point was of the American Obssessed Samurai. Tho :/ Maybe I'll find the manga and they'll have more.

What's really sad is that reading up on history you know things are gonna go bad for the Shinsengumi from this point onwards. Okita dies soon, and the rest will go down fighting

I know its old news but there is a site for the movie and its not out yet so the movie will surely come out soon.

Also the manga isnt over so maybe is will be like Hellsing a short anime but a long manga.

Okita dies soon, and the rest will go down fighting.

Hajima Saitou became very old so he didnt die in the wars. Im sure some of the other must have survived too.

from what I read most of the core members died. Saitou was the only one who really lived to a ripe old age and was successful.
Yamanami san gets assasinated by Okita after he tried to run away (Hijikata's Orders), Kondou San and Hijikata San both KIA. Don't know what happend to Sano or Shinpachai:/ I haven't read anything about the Ichimura bros. or Susumu so I guess they are fictitious. Course my info is the net and mostly seems fan sites so who knows:/
Its pretty sad story though either way you look at it

I can be almost 100 % sure about that the "ichimura" brothers weren't real living people, however I think that there was someone like kanichiro Yoshimura (Mibu gishi den) aka when the last sword is drawn", Kondou was assassinated not killed in action, he was killed by some choshu guy. but as you said hijikata was killed in action, hmm I thought that yamanami wasen't the real name of the vice-chief, did okita killed him? where did you read that?

EDIT: I didn't actually know that Japan had an emperor at the same time as a shogun, but he had no power back then..

Its sad story cause it was in the middle of wars and the shinsengumsi was protecting the "old" japan.

But at least the samurai was in controll for 600-700 years before the they lost their controll over japan.

RE: PMK

He's right about the Yaminami thing. Also, i think Kondou was assassinated after the shogun resigned. (So at that time the shinsengumi were considered as outlaws)
The shinsengumi was disbanded after the boshin wars. I'm pretty sure Hijikata, Shinpachi, Saitou, and Sanosuke all survived that. Hijikata and sanosuke died shortly after and Shinpachi and saitou lived to like 70.

That Wikepedia is great it has everything, it's true also, real fact, not bullshit... though the other sites were also good

You know yamanami-san in PMK, that guy with googles, that dosen't wield a katana, he died in 1865, one year after the anime ending, he was ordered by hijikata to commit seppuku in 1865...

Damn this thing with the tokugawa, shogun and shinsengumi is really intresting.

I just watched the final episode. There's quite a few unanswered questions, and a major issue still unresolved(Suzu).
(sigh) This series was a big waste of time.
I suppose there will be a sequel...but I probaly won't watch it.

I wouldn't be so critical of this series...if say, it was set in the modern times at a high school and was just about kids messin around(like Gokusen). But this series is set in a important time in Japan...surely it could have had a much better plot than what PMK had.

Its a fair assesment. I started watching two weeks ago so I didn't have to wait in between the episodes as much I really enjoyed the way it was drawn and animated. I thought its way better than most anime I've seen so far. Loved the fighting near the end of the series. Stylish.

I think the thing I like about this series more than the series itself was the fact that its based on the actual history and the characters within really were larger than life type samurai warriors back in the day. Like itachi said its incredibly interesting.

I suppose I would watch the sequel, BUT it would have to have a good saga, and with a lot more excellent fight scenes like in episode 23.
I don't hate the characters of PMK(well, except for that weird guy who got defeated by that flaming arrow). If PMK just had a better story though, it would have had been one of my favorites.

RE: PMK

I'm just glad AonE finished subbing it before ADV grabbed it (or did ADV grab it already, and AonE just felt like subbing the last ep?)

RE: PMK

i thought pmk was good, it couldve been better, faster moving, but who cares, this whole thing seems to be an intro to something bigger, if theres a sequel planned i would imagine it'd be more like waht we expected from it, tho i think too many of us were spoiled by kenshin or expecting a kenshin, but i just watch without expectations if its good its good if not, oh well, it really upset me that this was the ending tho cause i wanted to know more first, but i figure when/if this anime picks up in the form of a sequel, which it should after an ending like that, it'd come out really cool, sorta like how i couldnt even stay awake through Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring but when LOTR: Two Towers came out it was great

17. #137

RE: PMK

btw, the intro and outro was also very good in PMK... You gonna feel & hey jimmy.
