The Rock Lee vs Gaara Fight, Sasuke Vs Orochimaru, and the showdown between Haku and Zabuza and team 7.
u need haku with action, also rock lee vs gaara and maybe the one with kabuto and naruto and sasuke and sakura against that rain nin who uses the bunshins.
or maybe the episode where sasuke gets his curse seal and beats on the sound nin in the forest of death.

I've gotten 3 friends hooked by using the Lee vs Garaa eps.
You only have 4 eps so make them the ones with the most action. People dont need to know the build up to enjoy intense action scenes.
The first meeting of Zabuza works well to (the ep where naruto Henges out of being a shriken)
Edit: Also having people watch from the start is a bad idea, I had to force one of my other friends to watch 12 eps before he got hooked. He thought the first eps were boring and mildly entertaining.
ok, for sure u need the very first zabuza battle....the ep where they free kakashi, and then kakashi owns zabuza.....then the lee/gaara fight......and that should fill up the cd, but if u care to burn another one, u should take the recent 1 hr special.....
what u could also do (if u know how that is) is take specific scenes rather then whole eps, cuz thats alot of wasted space, with the intro/ending, and the talking and stuff....ur friends wont get any of it untill they watch the whole thing from the beginning anyway. that way u could also include some non action parts (cuz all action mite not b too intresting) like the 1st exam, or some lee scenes....oh and for sure the scene with gai's first appeareance

wow, when u think about it, there are SO many incredibly kool scenes in this anime....and not all of them are pure action as well. no wonder its such a great show
AMV faint-sasuke (the best of 'em if u ask me...) and the one with hoobastank - out of control AMV.
I was hooked in Berserk and the whole anime thing because of linkin park - with you with Berserk scenes
that's the reason why I am here hooked in animes and Naruto of course

why i say episode 1? i thought it was pretty cool. and it GOT me into naruto.
The part I always show people is when Zabuza was performing the seals to do the water dragon, and Kakashi was mimicking his movements. The two of them were standing there facing each other performing lots of seals and chanting in cool voices. That usually works when trying to hook people.
But I agree with what a few people have said, you really have to watch the series from the beginning to get a true sense of the characters - showing scenes or entire eps from later in the series is a form of major spoiling if they're gonna watch later.

Most people are attracted by action so something with a lot of fighting. Also you don't want to give away the story so something early. I would say the episodes where Kakashi, Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura fight Zabuza.
Or you could go with the first couple episodes. I thought they were pretty cool. They have some action (the whole part where Naruto fights Mizuki) and some comedy (the whole Sexy no Jutsu and Konohamaru part). It also is the start of the series so.........

eps 19 and 30 are one of the bests but they would prolly spoil too much for new viewers
ps (introducing new viewers to naruto using the lee vs gaara fight might be consequently because ppl might think its just a dbz rip-off)

Same here too.
Did your friend say he would only watch 4 episodes? WHy not strap him to a chair and tape his eyes open in front of your compuer? hahaha
Hmm, I would definitely put the episode where Haku and Zabuza die. Also I would put the one before that episode, so that thay could understand what's the situation. And the third and fourth episodes I would put, would propably be the fighting episodes between Gaara and Rock Lee. Two episodes of that also, because it would be dum to take only one, as the fight would be incomplete. Or if you anyway choose to take one episode of Gaara vs Rock Lee, then take the first one so that the rest of the fight would stay as a surprise to your friends.

that has worked for my frined. The "hook" up version will never work. It will be totally crap..
Better to start with episode 1 and so on, so you won't get spoiled..
yeah start with episode 1 it got my brother hooked
BUT
he watched later episodes with me first and that got him to watch from the beginning on his own.
