    OMG, that manga has one of the best artwork I've seen along with Berserk. And like Berserk- Battle Royale is gory has hell, to fit the envirement of the story.

    Based on a novel by the same name, which later turned into one of my favorite films ever, the manga tells the story of a Ninth-grade students sent to a deserted island where they have to kill eachother.

    A REALLY good manga. I recommend.

    where did you get it? if you bought it, how many volumes are there and whats the retail price?

    I know of 5 translated volumes by TokyoPop, and of about 10 volumes in japanese (and still not finished, I think they stopped though... ), and you can get it from amazon for about 10 bucks a volume.
