Thread: Prince of Tennis...

I was actually suprised at how much I like PoT after watching the first episode. I though it was just some lame anime about people playing tennis, but it is actually pretty deeper than I thought.
I guess I will try to catch up to the over 100 episodes subbed.
I guess there are good animes that don't need to involve Mechs, ninjas, samurais or superpowers to be a good anime.

You'll get super-powers by the time you're done with the series. "Hadokyuu!"

This anime hits high on my top-ten. Started watching about a month ago with my brothers. Now I'm waiting for episode 102 to be released.

Its good to find a great anime series. Its better when you know more episodes are on the way.

actually the hadoukyuu isnt a supershot its just a flat shot and they put alot of effects to it they make every shot so damn strong and big the same with the scud serve. and the boomerang snake and stuff like that its possible to hit those shots but there are also impossible shots like all of Fuji's specials and the tezuka zone.
but its a really good series i was also amazed that tennis was this fun im also enjoying real life tennis more now than i did before. cause now i know little bit about tennis the buggy whip shot and stuff like that the shots that acutally are possible are fun to see if you can find them in a game like the jackknife and such.

If you like sport animes, watch Slam Dunk it's pretty good. If you like sport animes with impossible shots and DBZ like kicks, etc. watch Captain Tsubasa, that one is kinda old, but it's really hilarious to see the kids powering up to kick the ball

I know the hadokyuu isn't a superpower, but its animated the same way, especially if your consider Street Fighter characters having superpowers.

Those other shots are possible as well. Its all about the spin. Tezuka-zone isn't so much a technique as a general style of play.

the spin is possible to do but not the amount that fuji does he spins the ball so it will stay on the ground, disappear to the side(which is possible but not in a millisecond like his does) and the hakugei is impossible to first it lifts right in front of jirou then dives and bounches just to return to fujis hand. and the tezuka zone is built upon controling your opponents spin that sound rather impossible you just stand in the middle and completely rules the game...

If you like sports anime... you gota watch Slam Dunk too. It's one of my faves.... I think the story is really good... although the anime is a bit old.

Watching PoT is fun. It's a good anime.Hmm.... I think those two guyz from Rokkaku Doubles Team are funny.
