Orochimaru said that Itachi was stronger than him. He said he needed Sasukes bdy cause he could get alot stronger faster with sasuke's sharigan. But if itachi is stronger why is itachi listening to the leader of his group unless the leader is stronger than itachi. And now that Kimmamaro showed up it go me thinking whos stronger itachi or kimmamro and how strong is the leader of the group Oro and itachi is in.
I am pretty damn sure that Itachi is stronger than Kimimaro, or else Naruto is gonna die. What makes you think that since Itachi is stronger than Orochimaru, that the Akatsuki leader isn't stronger than both? ...I almost feel dumber for replying to this post...
Since when did Oro say he will be stronger with Sasuke's body? I think he commented in the forest of Death that Sasuke had more POTENTIAL than Itachi did, and so he would train sasuke to match that potential before posessing him, wait a few years in his words

Orochimaru may have only said Itachi is stronger than him because the sharingan is the WORST possible match up for a all jutsu user. Although Itachi is probably is stronger than him in other ways. You dont' really know if Kimmimaro is weaker than Itachi, but he probably is. But Orochimaru is only going after Sasuke because Kimmimaro is sick so he would have used Kimmmaro's body to beat Itachi. And Kabuto and Oro said if he was there the plan would have definitely have succeded.
Itachi is stronger than Orochimaru, where Orochimaru's strengths lie. That's probably in all forms of taijutsu, ninjutsu and genjutsu. So, as far as being a skilled ninja, and fighter, Itachi is above.
But, Orochimaru might have more insight, and judgement. The man is a lot older, after all.

Just because Itachi is not the leader of the Akatasuki, doens't mean the leader is a better fighter than him. It is quite possible that he simply works for him just like Zabuza did for that merchant.

Itachi didnt win agianst jiraya,he escaped from fight cause he was in need of rest or something.
well yea he didnt win but still he was still able to take on jiraiya and escape, but i think that is itachi were to be a full strenght he would have won that fight

Also, whoever started this topic has no common sense.
Orochimaru wants to change bodies because his arms are useless and he likes to stay in his prime or take a younger body and train in it, so it gets to its peak.
He isn't going to Kimimaro because he thinks he is stronger. He thinks he will have the potential to be stronger. Since Kimimaro is sick now it doesn't matter anyway.

hm I think there has to be a mastermind behind the akatsuki. Why else would they want to get their hands on the kyuubi? I mean i can't imagine that they would want to release the kyuubi out into the world again. How would they benifit them? If they want to destroy the world they could do that themselves. Also there has to be a reason why itachi killed all his clan members. Someone must have influenced him.
Oh and i don't think Oro wants to use Sasuke's body to destroy Itachi. I think he just wants to destroy Konoha. I dunno could be wrong.

uh; from what i remember itachi *ran* from jiraiya seeing that he was fighting a losing battle only to fight another day. Itachi is strong, but not invincible and the reason why he can beat oro is that he is the worst possible match-up. this isnt dragon ball z (yet hopefully) with the power level cheapness, but with actual counters and advantages, etc. Jiraiya isnt completely that type of jutsu based, and what jiraiya uses a lot are summonings, and Rasengan with which sharingan shouldnt be able to steal as its really just from what we can see chakra focused into a ball (requiring chakra control), and a helluva lot of chakra. even if you can see the move with the sharingan it often wont matter if you dont have the chakra to actually pull it off, and against a combat type (rather than a jutsu type), the sharingan actually has a bit of a problem. IE against Hyuuga Clan, or vs. Gai lets say.
itachi is strong, but he depends too much upon sharingan (even said by his partner), and from that there are quite a few disadvantages the immense chakra drain and strain put upon the eyes and body). and the sharingan as cool as it is aint everything and has its own weaknesses as well.

Just because he has sharingan some thinkt he can beat the legendary nins easy.
sharingan doesnt mean he can beat legendary nin---like everything else its a weapon with advantages and disadvanteags---to be honest i feel itachi would have a very hard time with jiraiya cuz of jiraiyas advantages and itachi's weaknesses

All we know for sure, is that Orochimaru said that Itachi was stronger than he was. So we can assume in a one on one fight Itachi would beat Orochimaru. Orochimaru's main thing is techniques, Itachi probably knows a lot more than him and most likely counters for most of his techniques.
Jiraiya was able to beat back Itachi and Kisame, but that was under some special circumstances. Itachi and Kisame both fought like the day before, or maybe even the same day. Jiraiya was fresh and ready to go. Not that I don't think Jiraiya could take Itachi, I believe he could, but it just hasn't been proven yet.
Tsunade...well, we haven't seen her in action enough yet to know for sure. She has shown us that she is quite talented in the medical jutsu area, but other than a summoning, we haven't seen much of her other ninja techniques. Physically she is a freak, so her Taijutsu is probably good.
Just until they actually fight, we don't know for sure, as in Naruto strength doesn't necesarrily mean a win.

Itachi is the strongest character in the series so far. No buts and ifs about it.
As for the escape.. yeah. This has been discussed to death and back here. I think Itachi would mop the floor with Jiraiya, honestly. Not only because he has Sharingan, but because he's such a charismatic character, that I think he'd win. Jiraiya, OTOH, isn't all that. He's old, and experienced, which will do a lot for him, but against somebody who's at his prime (or close to it) and has been doing far more than writing porno novels, Itachi has the upperhand here. I'm not going to mention the plethora of jutsus, his super speed, and other ninja-like attributes here, btw.
If Itachi can create black fire that's able to burn through Jiraiya's jutsu (which is very powerful, mind you.) while on the run and give Jiraiya some major creeps by that demonstration, he's a pretty damn powerful ninja.

From what i saw of Tsunade fight agianst Kabuto she has a lot of pure strength.
I hope we will see Itachi fight a legendary nin soon so we can know how good he really is.
I would like to see Hokage 4th VS Itachi Uchiha.
