I think I know why! On the episode that Sasuke and Naruto were running up the trees I think that Kakashi says that their CHAKRA is more greater then his. So thats probly why it makes the sound bigger!?

Dunno how that works. I dont recall Kakashi saying that they've got greater chakra than him... i thought he was talking about Sakura.
Anyhow, i think what Gai meant by ultimate assassination technique is that it's a one-hit-wonder; seeing as it can cut through anything. With all the flashy light and noise, i dunno how it can kill someone unnoticed.
Since Sasuke needed time to charge up his Chidori, it's obviously a powerful technique that would consume a lot of chakra (as seen after Kakashi used it on Zabuza, he said that it took so much out of him he couldnt do much else). I dunno if Kakashi can just fire one up and shoot it through in the space of a second or two. I'm sure it would put a cramp in his arm or sumthing

*sarcasm* hero...*sarcasm*
its not really a big thing to get 100 Posts...
But im ur opinion, their potential chakra. It would be very strange if some rookies would posses more chakra than the Copy Ninja Kakashi...at this age.

Yes, it would be very exceptional.
But didn't Kakashi also say, after they encountered Haku for the first time, that there are some kids in this world who are even stronger than I am. Didn't he.
So it wouldn't be so strange.
I think Itachi (Sasuke's brother, a badguy in the story, so has to be strong) or Orochimaru could have been as strong as Kakashi, when they were.

The technique combines great speed and an enormous amount of chakra. The chakra concentrated to a single point and with the speed of the user, it sounds like a thousand birds flying toward you poised for attack. (gai)
I think kakashi already was close to zabusa.. and also if its so great technique for silent assanations why does it make such a loud sound and also you need great speed so you can see the attacker from a distance already.....

"And because the increadible speed he moves at. It emits a distinct chirping sound similar to a thousand birds chirping. That is why that move is called Chidori." This is what Gai told us about the Chidori. (Chidori = Lighting Edge / Strike). So what makes the sound is the increadible speed. So the answer to the guestion why Kakashis move didn't make that sound is that his speed wasn't fast enough. And as we saw, he didn't have to reach a huge speed to kill Zabuza, so why to waste chakra? His hand went through Hakus body with the speed he had, and that was enough to kill, so no need to get a huge speed... I hope you are happy with that answer?

I think they just added the chirping sound as an added effect to help Gai's explanation of the move and its origin.

When Gai says that it is the perfect assassination technique wouldnt that not be true because if you were standing there and you heard like thousands of birds coming at you wouldnt u do something or atleast run. Isnt it true that you try to be as silent as possible as not to alert enemies. Also when i started thinking how come Kawarimi no Jutsu hasnt been used in a while. You know body sustitution I wonder

Thats why u have to 1. be Very fast and 2. posses Sharingan or something similar. Lee tells something about it. Peopeole will try to dogde or block one single strike so u need the ability to _see_ the dodge [sharingen] and the ability to react to it [speed] and thought u are very fast only _very_ fast people, lots faster than u, might be able to dadge the strike without being hit, too.

If you remember, Kakeshi also said that the move depends highly on the users speed. In the case where he used it against Zabuza he was under a lot of pressure because of the possibility of the demon fox breaking out of Naruto, so he took a great risk by using only the speed of his punch.
Depending on only the speed of his punch, greatly reduces the power of the move. That's why when you watch Kakashi do it, he gathers even more chakra on his hand than when Sasuke did it. Because he decided to depend more on his chakra and the speed of his fist, than to use the move properly, because he didn't have either the distance nor the time to pull it off any other way. This also meant he burnt tons more chakra up than Sasuke did by doing so, and so wouldn't be able to fight as long. In the case of Sasuke, he had to battle in a more long term way, thus he utilised the power properly by using more speed and less chakra, but because he was moving faster it either ended up being as powerful as when Kakeshi did it, or even more powerful.

I think that's because he didnt need to make his target explode/be entirely cut...
I also think to kill someone you only need the speed of a punch with chidori, just to hit vital organs.
Sasuke was running at very high speed to penetrate the sand barrier + shield...

sasuke needed a lot of running space to break the shield...
but thats the advantage of the chidori, that speed means more force with the attack...
so thats why its an assasination move, and that it is also very strong.
