apparently people can put chakra into weapons (temari can put chakra in the wind, the rain ninja used chakra in the needles to guide them, gaara had chakra-imbued sand, etc.)
but...can anyone do this with ANY weapon?
like i dont see why they just dont guide their kunais at each other...or something
or like whenever they throw weapons, it would just follow their oppoents...
confusing...?
maybe it takes up too much chakra, but i dont know, needles arent that much smaller than kunai.

I don't think that they can all do so. One who seems to rely the most on using chakra in his weapon is Kankuro with his Puppet Skill (Kugutsu no Jutsu). The only other thing that comes to mind when i think of using chakra to guide a kunai to an opponent is telekinesis and that's another topic which i isn't relevant in this case as chakra and tk energy are different things.

They can't put chakra IN the weapon, they can stick it on them but they can't put it in it, temari puts it with the wind and the wind blows it around.

I find it interesting that everyone is making long and very thorough explanations and arguments, but the point is, everything has already been said, I think.
The thing with those weapons that don't touch the user or aren't hand touchable(like sound, sigure's (needles?) I thought they were kunai or sumthin
Even Sakura said that she thought she was good at controlling chakra, but Kakuro would seem to be even better. And Sigure just controlled the kunai (or whatever don't have the patience to check) with his chakra. Nothing odd about it.
But of course Sigure you'r one of a kind.
Yes, I haven't ever really thought about this. "needles arent that much smaller than kunai." <--- I perfectly agree with that. I wonder why it hasn't happened. Maybe it's a really rare skill or takes much chakra? I don't know what's the answer. I also agree that no-one can put chakra directly into a weapon, but as it was possible to guide needles with chakra, then why it souldn't work with kunais?
I think you'll need chakra to control your weapons, aiming,speed,strengt etcetera, you see... Naruto can aim like a god with chakra... Kids at 12 can kill a 30 year old beef-cake with just one hit... Weird..

he used needles..
but...im just saying, no one in naruto tried using chakra to control kunais, swords, whatever weapons there are...
maybe its too much animation work?

i agree, but didn't sasuke use his chakra to like move the webs that came out of his fingers? and like the pupeteer (forgot his name) used chakra to move his puppet..
yea he did....
i was just hoping to see one of them throw a bunch of kunais, then like control them so they work similar to homing missles and whatnot...or if they were knocked far away from their weapon, they can control it back up to attack their oppoent...
i guess that would be a little absurd though...and i suppose the only reason sigure could control the needles was b/c it was his jutsu that specially did it, not everyone can control it i guess =P
I think that it is possible to guide items using chakra because when Tenten is fighting using all the weapon techniques she has Gai says she cant miss because she controls the items. Also with Kabuto when he manipulated the dead anbu to move the way he wanted so he could escape when trying to kill Sasuke.
tenten just had the gift of accuracy and precision and that was her unique talent (like how sasuke has sharingan and neji has byukugan(sp?))
but, kabuto used a jutsu that animated a body to move around...it wasnt him controlling it with chakra...
its kind of like mind/body switch no jutsu, except you still have control of your own body.
