Yes... why do you people despise Sasuke so much? Although, I really love them both...
Let&#39;s compare Sasuke to Itachi for a minute...

I&#39;ve heard people say Sasuke does not care for his comrades when he obviously does.
Itachi... kills his WHOLE clan excluding Sasuke. Which seems more cruel?

Sasuke seems selfish? Only caring about vengeance and the revival of his clan.
Itachi... seeks even more power than Sasuke.

I don&#39;t know why everybody hates Sasuke either. Sure, the kid has some flaws, but then.. who doesn&#39;t?

Yeah, it was bad that he went over to Oros side, but look at it from his POV. He got his ass kicked by his brother. Everybody seems to be getting ahead of him. His brother added insult to injury. Come on, people. He was scared, confused and angry.

Now, his weakness however is : He has the power of the Uchiha Sharingan, and is obviously the most gifted, as far as raw talent is concerned. But.. he doesn&#39;t make full use of it, and instead of trying to better himself, he is constantly comparing himself to others. Then, when he sees that he isn&#39;t the shit, he runs away and starts to feel insecure about himself.

And where people got the idea of him being selfish is beyond me. He showed brave acts of heroism and friendship, when he took all those blows from Haku back in the wave arc. He also obviously cares for his team-mates, enough to not let them know about his cursed seal. And, he shows grief, when he leaves w/the sound.

put Lee in his situation and watch the same thing happen, both of them will do ANYTHING to achieve their goals.
If Lee had a cursed seal just you watch him tap into it when he knows he cant achieve what he set out to do, he definately would have used it against Gaara.

he would still have been the ANBU leader, the reason sasuke sucks and Itachi doesn&#39;t is because Sasuke puts no effort into even trying to kill Itachi, he&#39;s the same age about now as Itachi was when Itachi became an ANBU captain and sasuke is still the little cry baby who can&#39;t even become a chuunin blah his whole charachter sucks major ass

Itachi put more effort into getting where he is whilst Sasuke just crused by on his talent.
although Sasuke has more potential then Itachi (which has been said a few times in the series) it still means he has to tap into that potential and Orochimaru will probably do it best

Itachi&#39;s too strong to sit around Konoha and do nothing. I believe he was destined to leave Konoha and seek the missing piece to his puzzled mind. Itachi is indeed searching for something, possibly on a quest to find his trueself. &lt;~ Just my opinion. Itachi wouldn&#39;t be able to stay quiet and live a normal life, because he has too much powers to keep it unused. ANBU is all about assassinating, killing, etc...and he became bored of that obviously...so what else is there left to do? He has no heart of a Hokage to sit around and protect the village, so I believe it was IMPOSSIBLE for Itachi stay in Konoha.

I believe Itachi isn&#39;t THAT strong as most people describe him. Im guessing hes like the average guy of Akatsuki...meaning there&#39;s more people stronger than him in this world, and &quot;people&quot; not &quot;person&quot;. That would be weird if Itachi left another Uchiha alive, but you never know....he might not of wiped out the clan himself. It would be way too good if there was a Hyuga in Akatsuki.

But by that comparision, not many people are shit, compared to Itachi. Only person that can even begin to compare is Kakashi, and we know just how far Itachi is ahead of him.

Kakashi and Gai are the only two jounins that we know of that could give Itachi a decent fight (while Kakashi got cained by the mange sharigan i&#39;m sure he wouldnt make that mistake again, he told the others to close their eyes so obviously from now on he&#39;ll avoid it)
everyone above jounin level is either a match for Itachi or stronger i&#39;d say, Kisame said himself that Jiyaira is a match for both him and Itachi and Itachi said that every strong man has a weakness, which he admits that Jiyaira is strong and possibly the only way to defeat him is to attack his weakness.


also, and i cant stress this enough.
Kakashi only got beaten so badly because he made a mistake, he thought he could counter the mange sharigan and he couldnt, there was no other evidence to show that Itachi was far above Kakashi.
its just like how Kabuto underestimated Naruto with his rasegen. One move can decide the battle.
If Kakashi hadnt of tried to take on the mange sharigan head on he would have lasted alot longer and all you Itachi fans have to realize that

Itachi is about Kakashis level from what we&#39;ve seen with one major jutsu to his advantage

i&#39;m an Itachi fan and i&#39;m not one of those stupid fans out there who think Itachi is god just because he can use mange sharingan apart from this technique he must posses countless more techniques and his jutsu speed was amazing even for Kakashi so he&#39;s definately no match for Itachi, Itachi even spared his life for whatever unknown reason, Gai is the only one we know of who can pose a threat to Itachi, by saying every strong man has a weakness he stated that he could beat Jiraiya maybe not so easily and he will probably get hurt in the process but I say there&#39;s 85% chance Itachi beats the living crap out of Jiraiya...........oh and sasuke remains gay and a scaredy-cat how he so nicely put it, to me he&#39;s the worst charachter of the series and gets way too much spotlight

to edit my post, if you go back and read the chapters you can see that Kakashi was already out of breath after such a short fight and Kakashi looks scared when Itachi tells him he&#39;s gonna show him how a true sharingan user uses his sharingan so Kakashi is in no way a match for Itachi, also Itachi is only in danger when he uses his manga sharingan to much so if he doesn&#39;t use it then his stamina depletes the same way as anyone elses
