well i dunno theory's on why he used his own kid.
maybe because if he used another kid, the 9 tails would be able to take over his body and soul,
maybe its the relation with him bein the son of the 9 tails that he can control it
a true father would not want his son to grow up and be hated, and always be seen as the monster he is. remember he killed allot of konoha'a ninja and will never be forgiven. if he gets hokage (which he never will) that will just start a ruckus. anyways if the forth and seal kyubi, why not just kill it?
If yondaime wasen't naruto's dad then why did he seal kyubi inside naruto why not some other kid, why naruto?
what if naruto is a creation? because the third gave his life (didn't he?) in the first ep to seal kyubi, but he got have created naruto...
or naruto's father was someone very powerful like Oro, powerful enough to keep a demon inside his body and beiing able to control it when he becomes older.

Going off on the idea that Naruto is the 4th in small form.
What if it was like the phoenix. "A phoenix reborn from the ashes of death" Maybe the 4th gave his life to seal the Nine Tales, and sealed it with him as he was dieing/reborn.
Well somehow I doubt this one, but I certainly think that Rock Lee's theory is correct being that otherwise there wasn't much point in making a 9 tales if it didn't follow the myth.
IF the 4th is Naruto's father(which is my personal belief) then his mother is most likely another shinobi from the leaf village that died fighting the kyubi also. Although Rocks theory is interesting, i'm not afraid to say there is no way its correct. Naruto is not kyubi's child, he has Kyubi sealed within him.
If that's so Naruto's got one ugly Momma....... especially with a deep, masculine voice as well.
Your theory reminds me of the Inuyasha storyline, Bloodhybrid. Except the Inuyasha complications didn't involve a Naruto offspring

kyubi doesnt need to take over anyone if hes out in the open and free to do whatever he wants, like destroy konoha.
Most people voted for the 4th hokage, this is no surprise, I did aswell, the reason I think this is a good posibility
#1 - they do look quite similar
#2 - the way gamabunta said, naruto was the only one on him since the 4th
#3 - how he just randomly picked narutos name out of a hat to be the bearer of the kyubi.

thsi is my theory, maybe you will say its a littl farfetched but i like it. sorry if anyone else has said these things, well first thing ok. The hokages are supposed to be nice people and luv the citizens of konoha. so i wouldnt understand why he would do it to some orphan and ooming his life making it sooo hard forhim to have reinds and sociallize. and i think his mother died also, so when the 4th was making the seal to get rid of the ninetails, he said ill put it into my son, since i will not be able to be around to help the little guy out. so i can at least have some certainty that he will always be protected without his dady being around. and also, jiraiya said no one has ever been able to stya on gamabunta, except for one person... da da dum the 4th hokage! also the fact taht he has the blonde hair, and also look similar to naruto.

I also said this in my topic about oro and kyubi, the 4th being the father is very logical..
if Oro is the sick f*ck who transformed someone into kyubi, what is possible, it wouth be naruto's mother shortly after naruto was born, anko said that the 4th and oro weren't really buddy's (she kinda hoped he was there with here in the forest), so if Oro wanted to piss off the 4th he wouth have done one hell of a job if he put a demon inside naruto's mother and make here freak out, because his mother was strong or something kyubi was created, the 4th has to seal him because it's kinda his fault, and sealing him into his own son is the most logical thing because kyubi wouth be partly naruto's mom, so he wouth be the only one strong enough to hold kyubi back if he needs to because his mom is part kyubi so that gives naruto a bigger change to hold him back and naruto is very powerful on his own since he is the 4th's kid.
well i geuss we will have to watch or manga ppl read to find out, maybe they will one day tell us
