That's just what Itachi claims. No other character has supported that claim yet. So we can't accept or reject that claim yet.
Ofcoursebut I think thats quite true, but that is just my opinion.

i dont think Orochimaru is concerned with fighting Itachi at all. hes never said that and if he wanted to he could have attacked Itachi instead of the 4th hokage and killed him in a similiar way (Itachi is good but hes not good enough to beat the 1st 2nd hokages and Orochimaru)
Orochimaru as far as we know only wants Sasukes sharigan to be able to copy every jutsu possible, not to kill Itachi.
hmmm ive been noticing alot of stupid threads posted by itachi_ lately on the forums. if people keep spamming the forums with useless threads, then GW forums will suk. seriously itachi_ get a life, stop asking and thinking about every little thing in naruto and just read the manga. stop saying things like they are fact. u will find out when its shown in the manga. hotsuma u kickass, ur posts are always fun to read.
Yeah ! I agree with you Hotsuma. I think Oro is jelous at Itachi or something like that and want's him dead but he can't
Itachi is a true bad ass. Sasukes element of `coolness` just disminishes steadily in the face of Itachi. I also loved that excellent sidekick Itachi gave Sasuke that slammed him into the wall....reminded me of the bruce lee style one.
I think there is more to Itachi than just a rebel without a cause.Too bad Naruto has the mystery effect.

Itachi has something that the 3rd didn't have though - Sharingan. haha.
And, I think Itachi is one of the reasons why Oro left Akatsuki. His entire life, he was called a genius, a super rare kind of ninja, but then he meets the prodigy, Itachi, and he feels like crap. That's my take on things.
It is only a matter of time before we see Itachi again. I mean, his goal is to capture Naruto .. who is currently on the move and battling with the Sound.
If Itachi is truly bent on his capture, while Naruto is moving .. Itachi and Hoshigaki are most likely doing the very same thing.
Off-topic, but .. while I am confident Kimimaro will fight Naruto, it would be fairly exciting to see Kimimaro with this powerful Earth ("Gaia"seal go against an arriving Itachi.
.. Rock Lee could beat them both blind-folded, though.
