Naruto isn't a true genius like Sasuke or Neji, but a 'genius of hard work' like Rock Lee. He has 110% determination, making him capable of a lot more than a normal person.

Back on topic Itachi is 17 i think it might even be stated in the manga. Im not sure because im updating from college and my pc isnt working. If not then i have read it on a few sites that clearly say he is 17
he looks like hes 30 with those bags under his eyes lol jp but i think that hes around 17 or 18 cant realy say

that's cuz he's the main character duh. it'd be stupid for him to lose.
i always thought itachi was 16 oh well good to know almost everyone agrees on 17 i needed this info for my Itachi fanfic
I believe Itachi is seventeen. I believe it is stated somewhere, or the information of the past is given so that the readers can compute and figure out how old he currently is upon his brief return to Konoha.
As for Naruto .. I agree with Raven. He presents genius qualities through his hard work, as Rock Lee always does.
And, Itachi has those bags under his eyes I think to simply emphasize his strength. He is only seventeen but appears to be middle-aged. His experiences and battles have aged him beyond his actual years.
.. Rock Lee still owns him, though.
