When i was little i was told that everything was manga.. And then around high-school (well 7 grade in case 7 - 9 grade is not high-school in other countrys) i was told by a friend that watched a little that Manga was just the TV series and Anime was Movies.. The only thing he knew about this was that the porn-manga & anime is called Hentai..
Then i went and buy Akira on VHS and that was by a company named Manga.. So then i still thouth that that Manga - Anime theori was right.. But then i began to look on the web for myself and then i saw how it really was..
And i have begun to think about it and everyone of my friends that know nothing about anime & manga they just say manga to everything.. So i guess that manga is the first word that they hear when they come in contact with it.. And if i begin to explain how it is they just think am a nerd..
(I hope there is not to many spelling-errors and that you can read what i have just said)

There's no such thing as manga DVDs.
manga = (japanese) comic
anime = animated, in other words: a 'cartoon'

ANBU Captain
There is a company that translates anime and calles it "Manga Video" or "Manga DVD" but that is because most western people don't know the difference.
