Jounin Or ANBU

anbu is a class

therefore, you cant really compare them. an anbu is simply a specialized jounin

I always thought that ANBU were chuunin and special jounin. It has been stated in the anime that a jounin has authority over an ANBU and therefore they would be lesser than a jounin.

I don't think it's really necassary to compare.

The anbu isn't even on the hierarchy for ranks.

I think that after you have been a joinin for a few years you will eventually become a part of an ANBU team unless you are a super genius. After a while of the ANBU stuff though you might retire and just do special missions and teach.

What about Kakashi then? He is a jounin and still an active ninja. Also, when Kabuto went to the hospital to capture/kill Sasgay, Kakashi said that the ANBU Kabuto killed were prepared by himself. This leads me to think that ANBU are at a lower level than jounins.

Which one is the strongest ANBU or Jounin?, some of you may say ANBU ... because it says that after Jounin you become a ANBU, but kabuto picked out like 5-10 ANBU in episode 51, and latley outside the chuunin exam... And he&#39;s a jounin, i think that gai, kakashi, and the rest are stronger then ANBU, what do you think?

I&#39;d imagine that Jounin would be higher in rank that ANBU since they can boss them around and they don&#39;t seem to be getting knocked off like flies.

I think that being an ANBU isn&#39;t that big but being a captain of it is the big deal Kakashi and Itachi were both ANBU captains and they certainly don&#39;t have to worry about being dropped.

ANBU are sort of like the special hit squads while the jounin are like the higher-ups who run em as ANBU seem to be sent out all the time while Jounin are only sent out on really important things whenever they&#39;re not training new genins.

As you can see,you have jounins,special jounins,then the Anbu whcih sits right below the sage level.So techniclly the Anbu are a lot higher up.The reason why Kabuto killed them so easy are for 2 reasons
1.He is the son of Leafs best doctor
2.He was trained by Orochimaru and is he right hand man.He expect him to be sissy,Orochimaru is a sage.

ANBU members are jounins, specially trained for missions and stuff. kakashi is a special Jounin. an elite, just like gai, asuma, karenai, Ebisu ect.

ANBU is a side branch of jounin basically, thats the way i&#39;ve always seen it

Kabuto is a genin (dont forget that&#33; he never passed his chuunin exam due to forfieting 3-4 times) who can take down ANBU pretty easily - doesnt mean everyone can.

ANBU so far have been beaten up by alot of people so thats why we&#39;re looking at them like lower then jounin skill level but why would a village send out crappy nins to take on S class criminals?

Simply ANBU have been used as sacraficial measuring sticks so far

Yes we haven&#39;t seen any real powerfull ANBU. But it seems to be lot&#39;s of ANBU&#39;s but fewer Jounins.

anbu=jounin, u cannot become an anbu unless ur a jounin, technically anbu is higher, but kakashi and the rest of the jounins prove they are more usefull.

Kakashi would be one of my examples. Gai I am guessing would fall into that category also. I mean Kakashi was a member of ANBU team some time in the past but he has moved past that and is now a teacher and he does some really special stuff on the side.

the jounins we know of at the moment are all high levels jounins - we havent heard from the weak ones.

when the ANBU met with Anko she told them what to do if you remember - this leads me to believe that the specialised jounins are higher up then the average ANBU but its just like another jounin telling another jounin

the ANBU are there to protect so they&#39;re assigned orders by people of higher ranks and specialist jounins are higher up

ANBU = Jounins though

and just like to say it again, Kabutos a genin
