Ebisu's Vest

Ok, i'm probably just very unobservant.....is Ebisu a chuunin or a jounin? and if he is a jounin, why doesn't he wear the green vest like the others?

I did a search, couldnt find the question answered in the forum....

seeing as he is only in charge of one little brat (konohamaru) I think he might just be a chuunin ^^ I'm not sure though... it never really says.. as far as I know. and if he is a chuunin, maybe he just doesn't like the vest?

don't they say that he is some sort of "elite"? he says he'll make konohamaru the next hokage (if i can remember correctly). but maybe not.. i don't like him

I think he is a chunin, Iruku is a chunin and he teaches ninja academy students, and I guess Konohamaru is an academy student so that probably makes Ebisu a chunin, and jounins train genins or graduated academy students........ like kakashi, gai and all those other teachers at the chunin exame

Ebisu is an elite Jounin who primarily trains future Hokage candiates, at least that's what I remember being said about him. So Kakashi wasn't exactly screwing Naruto over when he had Ebisu teach him, of course, Naruto was a lot luckier to have Jiraiya as a teacher and now I return to waiting impatiently for 65... *waits impatiently*

yeah hes a jounin, just not a field jounin - thats why he doesnt wear his vest

also Kunerai doesnt wear hers

I remember the time naruto complain why ebisu is has trainer for the 3th exam and kakashi repley that ebisu is a elite jonnin that trains jonnins.

Ebisu is a Special-jounin, i don't know what he's so special at, but he's a jounin though.

well , Kakashi, Ebisu , Hayate , Genma.. are all Special-jounin.. ^^ but actually jounin and Special-jounin are the in the same level..

I doubt he is stronger than Kakashi.... Kakashi is an elite of Konoha. Not saying Ebisu is weak or anything... and I agree we havn't seen his true powers. He looks like a joker who just fools around.

I think Ebisu is more like Iruka but at Jounin level, you know, he knows a lot of things and so on but might not be as good as Kakashi on the field.

Ebisu is just a special jounin, a subordinate of a hich class level jounin.

Well if he trains other jounins, then you figure it out. I'd say he's pretty strong, it's just he had the unpleasent meating with Jiraya making Ebisu look bad. Also it doesn't help that he's a closet pervert either. But i'd say he is strong.

That's for sure... But Jiraya himself doesn't look to "hot" either

also, maybe the purposely make ebisu look bad...

so that most people would think he is weak.

maybe eventually he'll show off his moves

, but yea...they did make him look weak, and everyone would look weak in front of jiriya (as joker-kun said)

maybe except for orochimaru and the kages
