    The best theory would be the one about his best friend being a bloodline sharingan and Itachi killing him off.Then someone damages his left eye,thus the scar.And he gets the sharingan eye from his friend put it,My add-on to this.Since he knew Kakashi always wanted the sharingan,he said "If I were to die,I want you to have my Sharingan" or something along those lines.
