I've been seeing in a lot of other posts, users thinking he is weak. Why? He is Hokage for a reason...
^^ Yeah, that's what i figured....he looks weak, but you all know he's MASS powerful. If you think about it, he is more powerful than every other ninja in konoha. That's why he's Hokage.
Stronger than Kakashi, stronger than Gai, stronger than all the jounins, chuunins, genins....the 3rd is definately badass, we just havent seen it yet.

no hes not weak, i havent read the other topics on this but maybe they are saying he was better in his prime. after all, age can weaken u in some cases and since hes prob just been sitting in his chair looking at naruto do sexy no justu,hes weaker now then he was in his 30s or 40s
it was stated in anime (i think at the ep with the kyubi) and in the manga (chap 94) that the third is the strongest of all and was called the 'professor'...
i know it doesn't sound immpresive, and you might think he came from Sliders of Futurama ("a succsessor to the professor?" Zoidberg, 'a clone of my own', but it probably means he can kick serious ass...

I don't *think* he's weak. I *believe* that he's extremely powerful despite his very very old age. The thing is that although he's still strong now, he's no way near as powerful as he was in his prime. He was godlike in his prime, the greatest shinobi ever.
The Hokage was the strongest ninja of konoha at the moment he was chosen... i bet he isnt the strongest anymore now...
there is no doubt in my mind that he's not incredibly strong. he is a hokage, after all

Well we don't know that yet for sure.
Alright, we already know that the strongest shinobi who resides in Konoha is Hokage. So I would assume that the 3rd is still the strongest in Konoha because if he wasn't then they would apoint a new Hokage. It would make sense that when the 4th was hokage the 3rd was retired and when the 4th died someone had to step up and become hokage. Since the 3rd was the strongest shinobi in konoha he became hokage again.
Also i don't want people to think i'm saying the 3rd is stronger than oro or jiraiya. Im just saying he is probably the strongest shinobi in konoha. Remember Jiraya and Oro don't really live in Konoha.

Makes sense.... though maybe the 3rd/4th change happened because the 4th was clearly more powerful than the 3rd... right now if someone is stronger it probably isn't by much so no point having a contest or whatever to decide who should be Hokage.

yep, exactly......so the 3rd is the strongest shinobi in konoha at the moment. just cuz hes old doesn't mean he can't still fight.....lets not forget that there are young kids that are totally bad ass (haku, neji, kakashi when he was young). if 12 (or 6) year old kids be that powerful, a previous hokage can be as well........err ya
Yes, I think he's in fact really strong. Even he's already quite old, it doesn't mean that he's stupid or weak at all. I really hope to see him fight in some episode. He might know some kick ass jutsus.
I get a feeling that it won't be too long before we see 3rd Hokage bust out with a few killer Jutsu's and show who's da main shinobi around here.

i heard he knows every single konoha jutsu.....but that mite just be a rumor. if its true its gonna be pretty bad ass...i'd love to c some of his moves.
wonder if we'll ever c him summon.....if the 4th had gamabunta, mayb the third also has some giant animal?
I think the 4th is the strongest according to his popularity and that the 3rd wanted him now (In an epsidoe he sade: "If only the 4th was here" or something like that)
