The Third shouldn't even be Hokage anymore, he was retired than he had to come back because of the Fourth's death.
Bad idea, IMO. He(the Third) should have been looking for a replacement for the last 12 years.
Actually, I guess he was. It was mention in that one episode that the Third was trying to find Pervert Sennin, but that doesn't neccessairly mean he was looking for Pervert Sennin to replace him...

Not necessarily, since Jiraiya would have been 4th's Sensei when he was just a Genin... and when he became a Chunnin or a Jounin the 4th moved on.

That can't be Jiraiya had to be a jounin or at least chunnin to be the sensei of the 4th...you could look at the picture of Jiraiya with the 4th (as a kid) in narutoguide.com...somewhere in their

i think we'll learn the 4th's name in the later episodes.... there's got to be more drama between the hokages and the sennin.... did iruka mention the names to the kids while he was teaching them? lol just a though...
