I think its pretty self explanitory guy..
I've been noticing that the more powerful ninja's seem to just shrug off pretty strong attacks (such as when Orochimaru gets hit by the Dragon Fire thing and his clothes don't even scorch) while the Genin seem to always be dirty and wounded from their fighting. Does being more powerful and having better chakra control allow you some defense against attacks?
being strong tough high level and important allows you the favor of the anime creators
now why should they draw a beat up ororchimaru when they want to show us his strength and power?
it would not be too impressive if sasuke painted his hands ash brown or something would it?
I quess chakra control has nothing to do with the resistance. But it looks like being powerful also gives you resistance against attacks. And there can also be some defensive technigues such as Gaara has Armor of Sand and Shield of Sand. And Neji also has an absolute defence. So maybe for example Orochimaru used some kind of defensive technigue to protect himself from the fire. This is of course only my opinion about this.
its not about looking bad.....its just that u can't make some one seem powerful if everyone who attacks them manages to hurt them......besides, if u wanna b realistic, how often to u get lines accross ur face if someone hits u? unless they hit u REALLY hard, u usually dont c anyhting. plus, if some 2 year old kid hits u, no matter how hard, its not gonan do much damage (assuming ur like age 15-20).
its the same with naruto......sasuke's the 2 year old kid, and oro's the big mean 20 year old jock

you cant show a charcters power if his clothes get all brned up and he got sratches all over himself. that wouldnt look powerful..... certainly not if the attack comes from a genin that struggles to get through the forest(in the orochimaru case)
Orochimaru did technically use a shield against that attack, someones face
yea you're right but still you cant have the main badguy running around with bruises all over his body... he would look pathetic that way and no one wold take him seriously.
