At an average pace of 1.5 manga chapters per anime episode the naruto anime will catch up to the manga in 3 and a half years [184 weeks] at anime episode 247 / manga chapter 381.

If the story by then has not concluded they will most likely go the HxH way of stopping TV and making OVAs along with the manga.

I was wondering when the Naruto episodes weekly will stop. I dont know how it works in Japan, but do they do it in seasons so that eventually we will hafta wait months for episodes to start. Or will they finish the series in straight weeks?? I really dont want to wait months, that would be torture!!!!!!!!&#3 3;!

I think its weekly,, and wont stop till the end of the series.. in straight weeks but I'm not sure.. thats what I thought!

but I'm wondering.. is it possible to show two episodes 2 times a week..? !!

anyways.. Its little exciting to wait tho..

9. #9
Really hope they don't stop showing Naruto in Japan like over the summer or
something like that.. That would be really terrible..

There is no break in between seasons, once one ends the next one starts immediatly. The only reason you'll even have to wait more than 1 week is if there is a special TV event in the way, or if the production company gets behind schedule and needs to get ahead a little more. I think they are always 3-5 episodes ahead of what is actually aired on tv.

Welp - at current rate they will catch up with the manga episode that came out this week at about episode 110 - and the manga is nowhere near done

seems like Naruto hasn't taken a week off very often - so we have at least another years worth of episodes just based on the current manga ...

14. #14
Well, it's really nice to hear that there won't be a break. That's what I tought / think too.

The way it usually works for most anime is that it's run in thirteen-episode seasons, usually ending (for good) after two seasons. that's the case with anime like Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, RahXephon, etc. With something like Naruto or DBZ, I think they still have 13 episode seasons because after every thirteen episodes they have a "recap" episode where they play a lot of old scenes and re-introduce all the characters. I guess they just have seasons right next to eachother with four seasons a year, or else they couldn't do it on a weekly basis.

I don't know what to feel...

excited, that there is still about a year+ more of Naruto instore for me
or
sad that Im gonna be waiting week after week for years to come
or
paranoid
someone might license it before it actually finishes...

17. #17
Well the sad truth will most probably be, that the anime WILL be licensed at some point (due to the ever increasing popularity). And I believe it will be long before they catch up to the manga-story. As Elessar already said, it will take about three years (if they don't change the pace of course). Even more sad is, that this also means that fans outside the U.S. (like me for example) will probably never see anything again from that show then.... well at least if they are not willing/can not afford to import the dvds.

But let's not be unhappy about that, since naruto isn't licensed at this point yet... thinking about such stuff just makes you paranoid.... wait.. did I lock the door..must hav.... *crack.....* -silence-

if 2 esp each week that would be nice..

My opinion is they will do as they did with Shaman kind and licenece the say first 20 episodes in america and play them once a week saturday mornings then once they are finished with there 20 licence another 20 or something like that and do that so we are always ahead of them in subbed ones and we dont have to wait say 62 weeks from where we are right now because they licenced the naruto name thats my opinion on what they should do

20. #20
Yes, I'm pretty sure they'll license it sooner or later. It's pretty hot property being one of the most popular anime in Japan and one of the most popular online. But if everyone stops fansubbing it, then it'll become quite a bleak year... It will take more than a year for the DVD's to catch up to where the series is now... But I guess that's how this business goes.
