Everyone fears Gaara because of his demon (or whatever), so it would only be natural if Gaara feard a similar power within someone else.</td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'>

I totally agree with you, 100%&#33; It was definately a look of fear on Gaara&#39;s. There may have been some excitement in the expression, but he was stilled scared for he may have to face that power; and from his previous encounter with Naruto in the hospital, he knows that Naruto has a demon/monster inside of him too. Therefore, Gaara must know Naruto has a lot of potential to surpass him.

I sure hope it was fear in gaara. One thing does come out very strong in this ep thoo. Neji was able to fight naruto equally even with kyubi&#39;s power. Neji must be very strong sure surprised me.

I hope Kaze was scared too. Now he can see the power that the leaf village has even if they are just at naruto level. He can now imagine what power this village has compared to his. Though they may have really good ones as well that we have not seen yet.

Damn this show sure is interesting. so many things to ponder before the next release.

I only wished that Hinata could have seen him beat neji

    He seemed afraid to me.....
But not like he wanted to sceam though...

  4. #24
he just seemed surprised, estonished. hell, i would be too. i think everyone was surprised to think that naruto could actually manage kyubi and use its chakra

Hinata was unconscious for that whole episode.... so I don&#39;t know where you get the idea that her eyes were shaking

yeah tell the gaara fan who called us noobs. that we naruto fans want to see naruto kick gaara a&#036;&#036; (tail i mean)

If you are talking about me I did not say neji almost beat naruto i said they had an equal fight. They were equal in speed; neji was caught off guard except for him coming up from the earth and they seemed to think alike. The difference I saw that made naruto the true winner was his chakra stamina is far greater that any of the genins I have seen to date and the nine tails also heals him as he fights.

I was just shocked to see neji take on naruto when powered up by Kyubi and actually stand a chance. He must be really powerful for his age. Even his uncle said that he may have surpassed the head family.

I think neji could beat gaara. What do you guys think?

As i see it, Gaara only wants to fight strong opponents, right? So of course it was excitement he felt, but i think that feeling excitement for wanting to battle Naruto doesn&#39;t totally fit the bill. I don&#39;t know, but as well as i think he feels excited, i do think he also fears his opponents, when he do know that they are strong.

Hmm... based on what I know of Gaara&#39;s personality, he was not scared. He was just thrilled to see a strong opponent to appear(as you know he had no idea of Naruto&#39;s powers).

Indeed, it was way less than half. Kyubi was taking on 100erds of Ninja at the same time. That includes people like the Hyuga twins, Kakashi, Gai, ... All of them are way stronger than Neji. I think he used less than 1% of power.

To those guys who think Gaara doesn&#39;t fear anything... Well, I doubt it.

He is, afterall, only human. The whole point of his flashback was to show that deep down inside, Gaara isn&#39;t naturally evil, but simply the result of bad parental upbringing.

In fact, the whole flashback shows that Gaara DOES have more feelings than just calm and Crazy. It shows hatred, confusion, sadness, fear, regret, and most of all, I think &quot;jealousy&quot;.

Of course, he keeps all of that bottled up, usually, because of his screwed up childhood.

Anyways, back to the topic of fear, it even states that the reason he started to kill people was because he was afraid of the constant assassination attempts on his life. He DOESN&#39;T want to die, he is afraid of losing. Now, I don&#39;t want to go all psychologist, and assume a lot, but... I will .

Now, to anyone who likes doing crazy dangerous things, you will understand the feelings that you get when you do this. The feeling of fear, excitement, and adrenaline mix, and as you overcome this challenge, it&#39;s like you almost have an epiphany... And you will understand the feelings of anticipation of such battles. It&#39;s a mix of fear, and excitement, all rolled into one. I think that is what Gaara feels.

As he said, killing others, feeling that rush, is what makes him feel alive. If you replace &quot;killing others&quot;, with &quot;Doing something exciting and dangerous, and daring&quot;, a LOT of people will understand where Gaara is coming from.

Of course, you could interpret what Gaara said differently, and ignore my conclusions (but then you&#39;d be wrong ).

so, In conclusion, I would say he felt fear and excitement, in anticipation of facing Naruto, someone like himself. Someone who is actually a challenge, and in fighting, experience the True feeling of &quot;being alive&quot;.

P.S. Someone also posted how Neji almost beat Naruto? Cmon, everyone knows that even if Naruto hadn&#39;t outsmarted Neji, and they continued to fight after Neji deflected that attack, Naruto would have beaten Neji. Neji could hardly get up and walk, Naruto Used kage Bunshin, AND dug a hole, to set a trap for Neji. In terms of Genin power, when fighting to the death(at the time), it&#39;s probably Naruto&gt;=Gaara&gt;Neji&gt;=Sasuke.

You guys have got it all wrong.

that was definately the look of excitement on gaara&#39;s face... sexual excitement.

That boy was sportin major wood at naruto&#39;s giant...

    chakra

it killed me to see that neji got beat with only 1 punch. and naruto endured a hell of a beating. sadness... o well neji is always cool in my book.

He only surpassed Hinata and Hanabi. He has a long way to go to reach people like Hi(z)ashi.

  15. #35
Yea I think it is obvious he has surpassed Hinata.. and even if Hanabi has inherited more of the blood limit she&#39;s just an little kid... barely out of nappies.

    And she&#39;s a girl.

    A girl&#33;

Ahem, no sexism intended to offend those hard to offend there

Maybe so but weren&#39;t guys impressed with him keeping up to Naruto. If not I was and think he is on his way to becoming one of the most powerful nins that village has seen. Second to Naruto of course
