Thread: Broadband or 56K?

  1. #21
I have ADSL, got it originally as an agreement with my two older brothers that I will pay some costs and they will pay the rest.... though that was last year now one of my brothers is paying for it all.... he didn't used to think we need broadband and used to curse me for tying up the telephone line with 56k dialup to do downloads.. now he sees things my way, even though it may not be from the download angle

I'm going to close this topic for a couple reasons.

The first is there is no pole and this question basically couldn't be answered without one.

Second even if this was answered it wouldn't matter because the rule is there not only for people with dial up but for bandwidth concern. Bigger means that by default we use more bandwidth. Thats atleast the reason for the KB limit.

The size limit is a annoyance factor I don't care to scroll past 2 page long sigs there not that interesting no matter how nice you make them the 60th time I scroll past them.

Also some people either can't afford or can't get broadband. DSL only works for a certain distance from the transmitter and cable requires fiberoptics to be installed so that means 56k modems are required in some area's.
