I guess the fact he has some sort of overpowered demon inside him and is a complete psychopat makes him cool(but way less than naruto and sasuke)

Actually i'm more interested in the other characters than gaara...
Let's say gaara is the bad guy of naruto...
Why? Because he is even more freaky then a gotwoot member.
Umm, even Gaara is not one of my actual favourite characters, I gotta say that he's kinda cool in his own way... So powerful and mysterious, and he also has a monster inside, that's what makes him intresting...
I think Gaara, Naruto and Neji would make great bestfriends

Gaara is cool because he was made to be how he is.
I think it's badass how he doesn't even understand the concept of love and caring...his idea of it is simply "killing lets me know im alive."
That is a REAL bad guy...he's not evil for no reason....the show gives believable backstories to ALL their bad guys. Zaku was a pauper, Oro capitalized....Neji's father was killed because of his clan....and Gaara was never allowed to learn what love means.

I hope he gets what's coming for him.
I resent him only for what he did to Rock Lee, I still think Gaara's background is really dramatic and original. I hope we can find more about his past before he gets his ass kicked. ;D
Imagine the following Genin Teams:
Gaara, Neji, Sasuke
Lee, Naruto, Shikamaru
These two teams going head to head on an assault course would be ownage. There, you would not only need to be good in one on one combat but also team work and tactics. Lol I can imagine Sasuke and Neji fighting for command of the team... Gaara 'accidently' almost killing them both while attacking the other team.
As for what is cool about Gaara, I would just say that he is ok. Not to big on Gaara me.. though from exam in the forest I had wanted Sasuke to fight Gaara.. cos only he has the type of arrogance that would make Gaara even more freaky, and that would make Sasuke pissed off.... and so the cycle would continue until a bloodbatj of a match was underway.
Hmm well I like him cuz he looks unique and cool, as well as evil. His expressions are always entertaining the few times he bothers to make one. Also his moves are just plain cool to watch.
As much as I was rooting for Lee to win I still was excited to see Gaara use the saabak kyu (however its spelled) to crush his limbs.
i like him because he looks like he wears -way- too much eyeliner
Only reason people like him is cuz they think he is unstopable. I personaly dont like him. He relies to heavlily on his Inner self to win,same for neji i guess but at least he got beat down.
And His eyes are not creepy he just..... wears makeup.
the way he smiles makes him the best character in naruto that alone is reason enoughf
The only reason I liked gaara was because I love it when the cold-hearted bastard has these shocked looks on his face. Everybody looks to gaara for affirmation if something is crazy or not. The moment I thought Lee was friggin kicking ass and being cool is when gaara was about to have ura renge on his ass and he looked like he was about to piss himself. And when Naruto used kyubi in the neji battle. Gaara looked scared too.
In short: I only like Gaara as a measurement of how well other genins are doing. Personally, my idea of a cool ninja doesn't sit around and do nothing while his monster has to do all the work. That's just laziness.

I didn't really start liking Gaara until he gave some backstory.
It's always intriguing to find out how somebody can be so unbelievably evil. And yet at the same time have (on a very small, demented level) a twisted perception of compassion and love.
With all honesty I think thus far he's one of the most 'REAL' characters there is.
Maybe its cuz he doesnt do anything and still ownz the enemy.
Gaara doesn't wear to much makeup or anything like that.....He never sleeps, if you don't sleep for long periods of time you get "bags" under them. Gaara is a great character due to the fact that killling makes him feel alive, which is a very unique thing.
