Firstly, Gaara does not rely on his inner self at all. As we saw in his fight with Lee, its when he loses control that his other self surfaces. You can see in Kankuro, Temari and Baki&#39;s reactions to him that Gaara was in control and not his &#39;other&#39; self. If he did rely on his inner self Lee would be dead right now just like Dosu.

Secondly, he doesn&#39;t wear make-up. As was stated earlier those black things around his eyes are from lack of sleep. You&#39;ll find out more soon conserning this.


Now back on topic, the reason why Gaara is so cool is because he&#39;s a unique character. Also, he&#39;s really not at fault for his actions when you consider his background.
