Well actually he can call some of it up at anytime now. He was given a small portion from Kyubi during the cliff fall sequence as a &quot;gift&quot;. The ammount given for him to use at anytime probably wasn&#39;t as much as he used during the fight with Haku though.

i think naruto&#39;s body would exploded if kybui would unleash all it&#39;s chakra. due to naruto&#39;s body is too small to handle all the chakra. maybe we&#39;ll see when they grow up (maybe season 2?) that naruto will be able to summon all it&#39;s chakra. that would be wicked.

Byakugan, Sharingan, Haku&#39;s abilities, etc. They&#39;re all abilities that originated from birth. Those were all freebies that had their own negative consequences. Byakugan users have the whole Main family and branch family issues to deal with. Sharingan had to deal with Itachi going crazy.... Haku had to deal with being hunted. They all had tough pasts because they were different.

Naruto was different. Naruto had to deal with everyone treating him like he was the Kyuubi, and he had no idea why. Every other bloodline user knew why they were hated and they had to cope with it. Naruto had no idea why this hatred was coming towards him. Naruto, on his own, without the Kyuubi is a very impressive fighter. He was able to contend with the lucky/unlucky guys without use of the Kyuubi&#39;s chakra when Sasuke was worthless. Kyuubi&#39;s powers were sealed completely, he was fighting against 3 genins and doing so very well.

Haku was above a jounin level ninja. Zabuza said it himself, that even he wouldn&#39;t be able to beat Haku. Naruto and Sasuke did exceptionally well against Haku, who wasn&#39;t playing seriously. However, there was no way for the two of them to even come close to contending with the Haku fighting for his life. The Kyuubi&#39;s power was completely necessary to fight that fight and not lose.

Orochimaru is one of the 3 legendary ninjas. Nuff said, Naruto needed the Kyuubi for that whole encounter so as to not like... die...

However, in all the situations where he used the Kyuubi, he lost control of himself. He had no recollection of either event. With this excessive level of power, Naruto has had a bear of a time learning to control the ability and not become a bloodlusted psychopath like Gaara. Naruto has had to work exceptionally hard to earn the respect of those around him, like Kakashi, Sasuke, Sakura, Iruka, the Hokage, and now even the villagers. However, it doesn&#39;t measure up to him earning the respect of Gamabunta, and the Kyuubi. The Kyuubi even acknowledged him as being brave when he just flat out told him he better pay rent in the form of Chakra.

This fight, with Neji, Naruto had to exercise an excessive level of control so as not to lose himself and potentially even kill Neji. Even though it appeared as if though Neji was keeping up, I think Naruto wasn&#39;t even fighting seriously in that match towards the end. I think Neji realized that too at the end. However, it wasn&#39;t the power that won Naruto the fight, it was his ability to formulate a plan and think one or two or three moves ahead of Neji, which is why Neji lost at the end. He was careless and forgot all about Naruto&#39;s Kage Bushin no Jutsu, which cost him in the end. Naruto figured out Neji&#39;s weakness to the Byakugan and exploited it by digging a hole in the ground.

So bash Naruto all you want saying how he does nothing but rely on the Kyuubi inside of him. However if that was the case, do you really think he would have earned the respect he has now. If he didn&#39;t have abilities of his own, do you really think that Jiraiya, one of the legendary three ninjas, would have taken the time to teach Naruto how to use it? Jiraiya and the rest all see that Naruto has something that sets him apart from the other ninja, even if it doesn&#39;t make him the best, its a quality that those others all see as being exceptionally important.

i think the thing where they hit the wall and rebounded back in makes sense...its just it was all focused out for the big explosion so you didnt see them hitting the wall on the way out.

I liked this ep. The music for the intro and when Naruto was channeling Kyubis chakra was really good imo, and teh fight rocked, sent shivers down my spine.

As for the Kyubi vs Sharingan/Byukagen thing, I think the real difference there is the fact it goes against the principle of the anime. I mean Gai, Lee, and Naruto all seem to hold that they can beat their genius rivals, Kakashi/Neji/Sasuke through hardwork... And Gai being able to beat Kakashi, even with his Sharingan proves that. Then Naruto gets a genius-like power that no one could challenge with any amount of hard work...

The clan abilities are human and can be beaten. Kyubi is not and cannot. Well, within reason. That&#39;s why I consider Kyubi to be an unfair advantage, unlike the Sharingan etc.

I dont agree.. Sharingan, byugan and other bloodlines are exceptional powers provided within the clan..
Naruto isnt using Kyubi, he is using it&#39;s powers, just as if it was his bloodline. And like gaara, a curse which both can use to their advantage...

Okay ep, but I didn&#39;t like how Naruto beat Neji. Despite all of Narutos planning and cunning moves not once did he hurt or even hit Neji without the kyubi. Then after it recharged/empowered he spanked Neji in a matter of 2 minutes. I would have liked for Naruto to atleast have hit him a few times pre-kyubi.

Kyubi is kinda like every bloodline x 10. Unlimited Chakra… instant healing… speed and power of opening gates without the damage… Also when Naruto was kyubi empowered while fighting Haku he used his chakra to deflect incoming needles just like the special tech that Neji and elite members of the main house clan can use.

We can talk about bloodlines and kyubi all day and night. In the world of Naruto, some people have advantages and some dont. You could ask the same question in Lee vs Gaara. He was cursed with the sand ability just like Naruto. Now, he only used the sand powers to beat Lee and nothing external like taijutsu, ninjutsu or gentursu. He only controled the sand.

These genin&#39;s are special in their own ways, some more than others, but it&#39;s just like reality; some hav to work hard, and some are just naturals. There&#39;s always going to be someone better than you, so its best to just accept fact.

I think Zabuza was referring to Haku&#39;s Demonic Ice Mirrors Jutsu when he said he wouldn&#39;t be able to defeat it. Or was that Kakashi?

Actually, if you notice, Neji just plain didn&#39;t have the Byakugan activated when he recovered from the explosion. We don&#39;t know if he can&#39;t see underground with it, but that&#39;s really it.

Rock Lee is my favorite character as well, but the crappy part is I&#39;m waiting for him to heal so he can get back out there. Unfortunately, he can no longer beat neji with his ure renge because neji has the kaiten. Damned shame really. I kept on thinking they wrote out Lee because people were seeing this guy as the king and everybody else as not-so-Lee.

I&#39;m pissed that everybody has those special powers but if Lee were real and he was your friend and he saw you pissed off that everybody was blessed with their special abilities, Lee would tap you on the shoulder, and say it&#39;s all about the hard work. And all in all, after Lee, who have we seen to be working the hardest? I mean, for Christ Sakes, Naruto had to get thrown off a godamn cliff for his training&#33;&#33;&#33;

Well since the points I was going to make about Naruto, Kyuubi and Neji have all been covered by other people :P Figure I&#39;d touch on the shadows flying into the dust cloud thing that seems to be confusing some folks..

When Naruto&#39;s charge collided with Neji&#39;s Kaitten, they were both moving at extraordinary speeds. An example cited from another anime.. Kenshin vs. Shishio, the final blow.. When they hit, they shoved all the air between them out, creating a void which sucked them closer together.. then it all rushed back in and repelled. Same thing happened when Neji and Naruto hit: All that Chakra between them got thrown out around them, causing the huge dust cloud, then when that &quot;void&quot; got filled between them they got thrown apart and into the dust cloud.

Hopefully that didn&#39;t sound too muddled or anything, best way I can think of to explain it :P

maybe it&#39;s cause i&#39;ve read the manga so i know more about him

thing is though he isn&#39;t invincible just cause he can use kyubi
kyubi might be close to invincible... naruto however isn&#39;t

and naruto didn&#39;t use only kyubi to beat neji.. someone was saying they were disappointed that naruto used only raw power to beat him but infact he created a clone and dug his way under neji and uppercutted him when his guard was down... of course neji wouldn&#39;t be so damaged if it wasn&#39;t for kyubi but neji might have beaten naruto if he had relied only on kyubi (of course we&#39;ll never know that now will we)

as for the argument about wether or not naruto&#39;s power is unfair: i think it&#39;s pointless
people are bound to have different opinions and they&#39;re not going to change just because you recite stuff that&#39;s happened in the anime
people are stubborn and people have different opinions
i think what naruto has is fair, but it won&#39;t ruin my day if someone for some messed up reason (that was a cheap shot i know) thinks it&#39;s unfair

well reading through the forum i was tired and not bothered to read all the long posts.. i know some people are but here&#39;s a short version for the people who aren&#39;t bothered:
* rock lee (with gates) would kick naruto&#39;s ass
* naruto with kyubi isn&#39;t invincible
* naruto did use tactics to beat neji
* arguing about a difference in opinion is pointless because it is just that: a difference in opinion

I think we forgot that Naruto learned Kage Bunshin a jounin level technique that probably no other genin would be able to learn in the time span that Naruto learned it in. And remember he did this all without the help of the Kyuubi. I think there is more behind Naruto&#39;s power than just the Kyuubi.
