Well, looks like I'm dropping Lazarus, because only the shitty dubbed version is available :/
Last week, someone actually did some good ol' fansubbing and reconstructed the Japanese dub with English subtitles from 3 versions. No such luck this week.
"She's the only non-loli girl in the show, your honor!" will be my defense in court
Kowloon episode 2:
It's borderline a drop for me, but not yet. I really don't like how the anime just omits telling us fundamental information about this world, it's like there's only mystery because the author doesn't bother giving us more details.
Also Kujirai should just ask Kudo what's going on. This isn't just about love, she literally has no memory, so she should be worried.
"She's the only non-loli girl in the show, your honor!" will be my defense in court
it's obvious that she's a made up woman because she knows what she wants to eat. duh.
I'm also suspecting that he blonde girl is her from a timeline where she gets plastic surgery. no supporting evidence.
Witch Watch 02 continues being a compentent adaptation to the mange, cutting what we need to cut and keeping the flow right.
Gorilla Girl 02 continues being a mess without a plot. at least the "oh super cool and strong and noble yound prodigy" actually acts his age and not like some far-too-old-for-her club host.
Lazarus episode 02:
That guy who mixes Japanese dub with English subs did it again, so I was able to watch it after all. This show's biggest problem is that it is so mid. There's nothing exciting going on so far. And the fighting here was really bad. Shooting at each other with deadlly intention, then suddenly everyone goes "oh, we're on the same side actually". What is someone got hit? Meh.
"She's the only non-loli girl in the show, your honor!" will be my defense in court
It feels like an sci-fi adaptation of a 1990's asiat movie. "The Scent of Green Papaya" comes to mind, but many others were quite popular at the time.
I guess we have to remember that Gene Terra can recreate someone. That Someone is the Kujiraļ we're seeing, probably even all of the Kowlon place is an alternate reality.
And I like the idea that the blonde could be former Kujiraļ
All the things I really like to do are either illegal, immoral, or fattening. And then: Golf.
Maebashi Witches 02 - someone can't wait to have her character arc and resolve her shitty attitude.
To Be Hero X 02 - actually good. I'm waiting for the cheap drama to make this unbearable for me to watch, but it's intresting enough that to keep me watching.
Mono 01 - kind of cute.

sig made by Itachi-y2k5, thanks, dude!
Currently Watching: probably a show directed at 9 years old girls, lets be honest.
You know the important distinction between Batman and me? Batman is fictional. In real life, there isn't always an alternative.
I remember reading the early chapters of the manga.
Isn't this basically 1:1 the manga?
Not sure if the Manga started with the "flash forward", but episode 2 felt like what I remembered reading.
I dropped it for a reason, it was boring as hell.
The only reason to watch it is because Lizard Girl exists.
The show itself is completely forgettable and uninteresting, even the struggles he will soon face are.
I'll never understand how Manga or Anime like this take off enough to even have an audience.
They aren't funny (episode 1 tried to be funny, but look how generic and bland the jokes where, even the delivery was horrible), they aren't cool (just cringe and boring, MC is emotionally dead as a brick), they aren't even interesting because it's not like actual medical knowledge is being applied - they went the most boring route with giving him god-like powers (they'll never explain how magic works, I'm sure of it.). It would've been 100 times better if he didn't have any powers at all, in a world where magical healers exists.
Not only would it make sense for an underground clinic to not be able to use "holy magic" (or whatever), it would also make sense that criminals won't get better access than "profane methods".
And that's where MC will come in, by providing access to medicine on a level that can rival magic.

Ballpark de Tsukamaete! 03, series isn't a homerun, but also not a strike-out. I don't know enough about baseball to get the correct term.

Gorilla Girl 03
this is stupid. her hair looks the same after the haircut, she's too innocent, too stupid and boring, she's somehow considered unrefined in a room full of washed out featureless blank faces. blessing are life definning but somehow nobody has a real opinion on them other than "gorilla wow!". why do they even know what a gorilla is? other soldiers had non-military standard hair as well.
that's a horrible firing range, every officer there needs to be court martialed and demoted. I don't need to learn the names of the four commanders before we have an understanding of the main trio.
Gorilla Girl 04
this is dumb, bottom of the barrel, generic in the worst way, by-the-numbers idiot main girl and idiot plot, along with bare bones world building. I hope the bitch girl is actually a real villain, and not just "villainess". this shit is contrived and stupid.
Witch Watch 04
good episode, good pacing.

No thread for Vigilante or am I blind?
Just wanted to say: This is currently MUCH better than BnHA. I have my annoyances with it, but the characters and story and everything are way more interesting so far. Although BnHA was more interesting in season 1, too.

I'm at a point where spinoffs and overextended sequels give me fatigue and boredom.
I just watched Overlord the Sacred Kingdom movie, and while it had nice production values, it was boring because it was the same spiel as the rest of the story. It doesn't help that it was entirely about Ainz grooming a teenage girl.
Peace.
Oh no, grooming in a FANTASY story.
"She's the only non-loli girl in the show, your honor!" will be my defense in court
I don't understand what you are trying to say.
Peace.
I think it was a pretty good movie.
The grooming was kinda well done as well, because even though Ains didn't mean it that way and he doesn't know what he's doing, the act itself was actually meaningful for the whole plot and the outcome of it all.
Thats... probably one of the few times, or perhaps the only time, this has happened in anime-shows?
Grooming that is actually important to the story and part of a greater plot?
I have to give the movie and show in general credit though.
It kinda hard to root for anyone in this show, but not in a bad way.
Ains is evil as fuck, but his rule is probably the "nicest" and in a weird way, the most humane (equal rights between cultures or races etc.)
The Sacred kingdom however clearly had benevolent leaders and just soldiers. The Paladin Order actually, for the most part, strived for the safety of their people.
Even though Ains rule is probably pretty just, his tactics literally sacrifice his own people. He had no problems slaughtering demi humans who probably would've been fine being ruled under him.
But at the same time, he is trying to build a kingdom where people won't rebel against him.
I kinda like that Ains is the MC but at the same time, in the story and the perspective of how it's being told, he kinda isn't.
At the same time, I feel like it's a shame that we don't get to see more of the struggle of the "normal guys" and that literally everyone under Ains is a nuclear bomb capable of ruining a kingdom on his/her own.
I kinda liked the Paladin Order, and the normal footsoldiers etc.
Very interesting story overall, and very interesting POV. The Sacred Princess getting crushed and the priestress used like that is kinda insane.
The rune weapon stuff was hilarious as well.
Overall I have to say, the movie has proven that the concept of the whole story and how it's being told is a very interesting choice.
