It's interesting that in both Yami Healer and Seikan Kokka the anime begins with a flashforward (assuming Yami Healer even bothers to show the MC's past), but it's understandable why Seikan Kokka did it, whereas it most certainly only makes Yami Healer worse.
I rather enjoyed the first episode of Rock wa Lady no Tashinami deshite "Rock is a Lady's Modesty"
The CG playing looks a little awkward, but I'll give it a pass since it is mocapped by the members of Band-Maid, who also perform the OP.
The twintail blonde main character has a good hook to her character arc, with her determination to get the #1 Maiden title in a super-conservative traditionalist ladies' academy while being a punk lower-middle class person at her core. Who is she determined to show up socially?
The past with her father is also intriguing enough to keep me interested.
The other lead being super arrogant and vulgar is a nice change of pace from the otherwise "two-faced" characters who are always super encouraging despite the implied setup. She's actually two-faced. Her overt taunting and goading of the twintail after their jam session was nice as a change of pace.

Well, they talked about recreating an avatar of someone as close as possible as who they were. Only FMC does not even need prescription glasses. to me she's the duplicate. But a surprise could be mmc is too.
Feels like a 90 artstyle, liked it. A bit slow.

Nazotoki wa Dinner no Ato de "Dinner Table Detective"
The first episode was pretty cute. For a NotaminA Madhouse series, the animation is pretty plain, but it is expressive.
It feels like an 80s detective series, but all the police are exceptionally stupid because they're wealthy heirs.
The main characters play all the comedy relief while her butler does all the competent detective work.
Going to need to watch the second episode to see how clever the mystery actually is, such that the butler claims is so very simple that it is embarrassing our dear lead detective is far too stupid to figure out on her own.
Witch Watch 01
doesn't dissappoint, follows the manga closely, they managed two stories in one episode pretyy well, which was my main concern.

I don't follow the manga, so I have more impressions. it's ok, but stupid. why are they holding the ceremony in the auditorim if the results are publicized? why is this such not a big deal that we have to guess the animal blessing for other characters (owl for teacher, squirl for the guy who's probably a prince, cat/cheeta for the fast guy) if the blessing is such a big deal that it determines your life's path. the exam is dumb, seriously stupid, someone should be discharged for running the exam, and some one else should be fired for designning it. remarkbly stupid.
I'm gonna treat this like an isekai, at least that would be a reason why the girl is so out of touch and the setting is so half-baked. I'll probably watch another episode or two, since it's so easy, but this should be the first series to drop.

Lazarus episode 1:
While this was somewhat enjoyable for an episode that really consisted of nothing but someone running away, I have two major gripes with it so far:
1.) This feels and lookds and sounds way too much similar to Cowboy Bebop. I googled and apparently it's from the same author. Still, the hero even looke like Spike Spiegel, an a special team is being assembled? Uhuh ...
2.) His jumps were too over-the-top for the otherwise grounded presentation. I had really hoped that the episodes ends with revealing that he's not a regular human, but a cyborg, an alien, a mutant, anything. Maybe it's coming next week, but if he makes all these jumps and without any stamina limit while being a regular human, then that's bs.

I guess this is the season contender for cute girls doing cute things? ok, whatever. it's nice, has potential to keep being nice,and the animation is good. well, actually, I don't know if it's good or if they just turned up the dial on highlights, but whatever. cute girl witches doing cute girl things.

would have dropped this if not for the ending. I like the concept, even if it's super contrived. the animation looks like it's a netflix series.

Katainaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru
did anyone watch it yet? The manga had some reaaaally good fighting panels, but the rest was kinda forgetable other than MC being an older dude and is seen as an underdog.
I hope the animation is decent enough to translate that, but I have my doubts.#
Will probably pick it up this weekend, but I was interested already.
edit: oh well, couldn't wait as I had nothing to do.
Damn, I hope the quality remains. It's not groundbreakingly good, but it uses CGI that looks rather well done and almost like how it's actually drawn. I hope to see some good episodes then. In fact I hope more shows do CGI like this if they use it.

I should make a thread for it later, but first episode of Teogonia was actually pretty promising. Just a bit old-school visuals, kind of like Kemono no Souja Erin or something, which made it even better. It's a pity it has isekai elements, but so far it doesn't look like that will play a massive role. I hope so.
