    Maou 2099

Hm, am I blind? I could have sworn I already made a thread for this. Whatever:

The cyberpunk metropolis Shinjuku—a massive city-state bedecked with neon signs, towering skyscrapers, and the latest cutting-edge technology. It is here, in year 2099 of the Fused Era, where the legendary Demon Lord Veltol has his second coming five centuries in the making. But this landscape is nothing like the one he conquered all those years ago, for the fusion of magic and engineering has elevated civilization to dazzling, unprecedented heights. Veltol may have been reduced to a historical footnote, but make no mistake...this brave new world will be his for the taking!

    Episode 3:

I'm really glad how they're incorporating the Vtuber-job. Instead of making it the whole gimmick of the show, Vel really only uses it because it makes sense to regain his powers.

Ofc, I'm still annoyed by how friendly the so-called "demon lord" behaves, Japanese authors just cannot write characters like this properly. Either choose a Maou for your protagonist or choose someone who's not strongly connotated with doing evils. I doubt this Vel will ever do any evil again.

Still, it's entertaining to watch. Better than the usual isekai crap. But also not by much.

PS: Oh, and ofc Vel is asexual, because we can never have a hero who makes use of the hot girls that flock to him, sigh.

    Just watched til latest episode.

Isn't their current world fairly ideal for his type of power? Internet and social media along with a bigger population than his medieval world would make him invincible.

    Episode 4:

This continues to be just interesting enough. It does a lot of the mistakes all those cheap, generic isekai anime do, but by keeping the overall tone serious, it has me more hooked. Plus, the art ist slightly better than usual.

    Episode 5:

Pretty much what I wrote last week. It's not where I'd like it to be, but it's also not where I feared it might go to. Would have prefered if Machina actually had been killed for some real drama, but the solid artwork keeps this interesting.
