    Tsuma, Shougakusei ni Naru

Keisuke Niijima lost his beloved wife, Takae, 10 years ago. Since then, he doesn't feel alive and is seen as a gloomy man. The only family Keisuke is left with is his only daughter, Mai. Keisuke wants Mai to be happy but he has not done anything for his daughter other than providing living expenses. The father and daughter's time stopped 10 years ago. They are living in the same house but live very separate lives and do not communicate well. One day, an elementary school girl appears in front of Niijima's house and claims that she is the reincarnation of Takae

Yeah, let's not pretend like we won't watch this. Let's all go to jail together, lol.

I know people who read the manga keep saying "this is actually a wholesome story", but the trailers really do not help this anime's premise

    Episode 1:

    Well, that was nice.

I just can't help but wonder about what's it gonna be:

    a) he'll never again have any intimacy with his reborn wife because she's so young now
    b) he'll be intimiate with her despite her young appearance
    c) he'll wait until shes 16 (or whatever is legal age in Japan) and THEN starts being intimate with her again

I'm not really fine with any of those. B) would be my prefered choice, because morally, Takae is a mature woman. Like, if she had been transformed into a horse, I wouldn't condemn him for banging a horse, to make a strong case here, lol. However, I have an also strong feeling that the author wouldn't dare this, so it's gonna be A) or C) and both of these are shit.

Honestly, at this point it'd be best if he got together with the co-worker he's started eating bento with, perfect pairing. But then it's super weird and sketchy to still meat you previous wife in secret.

Not sure what's the endgame here, but for now, it's enjoyable. But: No matter how "wholesome" people who read the manga call this, the optics of this anime are SUPERBAD, rofl. We're all going to prison ^^

What the hell are you writing?
You understand that B is banging a child?

Maths: let's suppose he married Takae when he was 25. Add 12/15 years when Takae died. Add another ten. There's a good chance he's not 50 yet. So he can wait some years to not have to bang a child.

All the things I really like to do are either illegal, immoral, or fattening. And then: Golf.

How is B "banging a child"? The mind matters and Takae is equal to his age, no matter the body. That's like being Australia and saying "she looks young, therefore it's illegal".

The body also matters because if it isn't big enough, it can get injured, sometimes seriously.

So small adult people shouldn't be allowed to have sex with regular sized adults?

Ok, this is becoming a weird discussion, although I'm annoyed when someone argues on feelings instead of facts. But then again: This is exactly the type of discussion this weird anime would evoke.

It's not feelings. It is just a matter of physical limitations and differing sizes.

You do know some adult women find it difficult or even impossible to have sex with men with large members, right? They themselves don't even have to be small for that to happen. Sexual organs differ in sizes depending on the individual, much like a 7 foot man can have a small pecker.

Wait, have you actually ever had sex?

I mean, if you have, you'd know what I mean. People are surprisingly varied and compatibility issues are common.

Gonna be honest, I'm not watching this show so I can escape the weirdness of having this discussion thats bound to happen every episode.
I don't even know if the show itself is even suggesting that nonsense, because I feel like the love can be purely emotional without actually getting physical.

I've seen 1 episode so far, totally wholesome. Heck, even in their adult form flashbacks, there was no sexual aspect displayed. They seemed to love each other's personalities the most.

Totally not true. There were several scenes that played into the "omg, adult approaching grade schooler!!1" theme. The whole "this is actually a wholesome anime" just won't fly when you show this to anyone who's not a fully committed full-weeb.

Tbh I don't understand why some people feel the need to pretend it isn't a highly controversial series. "My wife is reincarnated as an elementary schooler" says everything one needs to know and the anime stays true to that expectation. Just because the husband doesn't go full-Rudeus doesn't mean there aren't bad optics. And I'm sure there will be many wholesome moments. But to imply that it's a 100% un-problematic show is living in a very small bubble.

PS: Asking someone if he had sex is just rude and makes you look insecure, shinta. Do I really have to tell you now that I have had sex to make you stop making dumb insinuations? Cringe.

I guess that answers whether you have a real or imaginary wife.

    Episode 3:

Ok, this was a dumb episode. Nothing really happened.

If only Niijima and Takae sat down like adults JUST ONCE and talked about what THEY want for their future, so much unnecessary drama could be avoided.

    - does Niijima want to keep Take as his wife? Make it official when she's older?
    - does Takae want to stay with him? Wait until she's 16 and then publically announce they're together?
    - does Takae want to live as a widow for several decades? Heck, does she want to see her daughter die?
    - and if the answer to any of this is "no", then why push back the work colleague who fancies Niijima? Is he not allowed to have sex ever again?

I thought Takae would actually WANT him to find a new wife. But then the episode ends with "I still love you", ffs.

    TALK, you people, TALK.

    Episode 4:

Only in anime can an adult woman take a little girl she's only met once to her home and it's treated like no big deal, lol.

Marika's mom stresses me out. From what we've seen, she just seems to be super abusive towards her daughter. She does seem to have a shit job, but still.
