Endfield actually has exceptionally BAD rates. Not as demoralizing as Mihoyo's (its predictability also means you have almost no chance of getting early pulls) but not good by any stretch of the imagination.
- The weapon banner comes with 25/75, not a 50/50. That's mind-blowingly shitty. Three out of four times, you're not going to get what you want with you finally hit the rate. The absolute rage of Genshin whales going for Staff of Homa or WGS and never getting them, reborn. Hoyo had to fix that system because their whales were threatening to quit.
- For the character banners, the pity for the featured 6* character doesn't carry over. The featured pity is once per banner, so if you want dupes, you're going back to FGO-style rates. You hit 60-80, you win or lose the 50/50. If you lose, you go to 120 and get the 6*. But then your entire pity counter RESETS when the next banner starts. That's as bad or worse than BA, which gets a lot of shit for having mileage tickets that do not carry over from banner to banner. If you lose the 50/50 on Endfield, you have to whale for it or everything you've spent is lost. You must have 120 pulls stockpiled before you pull on any banner. Even Hoyo isn't that bad. If you lost the 50/50 in a Hoyo game, you have guarantee on the next banner. Not in Endfield.
It has the worst aspects of Hoyo's gacha and also the shockingly bad aspects of a Nexon gacha.
If you're repeatedly skipping banners, yes, it looks like it is "the best" but objectively it is exceptionally shitty. And the baseline comparison most people are making is with Hoyo games, which aren't great either.
Endfield might be the worst gacha system to come out in a long time for collector-style players and whales. Selective F2Ps it's good, but you better be constantly tracking leaks and doing a lot of pull planning and scrutinize every pull session before you even start.
